Lots of bands and songs I love in here. Butthole Surfers, Can, Beefheart, Magma, Ruins, Melt-Banana, The Octopus Project, The Residents, Secret Chiefs 3, etc.
I actually have started working on De Futura but I don’t know if I’ll ever finish it. I also have a song by Koenji Hyakkei started, you’ve probably heard of them if you like Ruins (Japanese Zeuhl band with Tatsuya Yoshida).
I bought stems for Bereshith (Secret Chiefs 3) but it’s such a mess to tempo map that I don’t know if it could work (yet Trey Spruance says it’s one of the easier ones… ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_cheeky.001.gif” /> ).
Hey @Kloporte – that’s great! I would love to be able to play any of those if you get them finished, yes definitely a Koenji Hyakkei fan as well ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />
A year or so ago I learned enough to author two of my own songs for a band I’m in, since we already have visuals and projection and play VGM songs I put together two for the crowd to play along with us in RB3 at live shows which was super fun and challenging. I’ve wanted to make a few from the list I posted above, but got real frustrated with the camera controls and a few other things and just sadly have not had the free time between other creative projects to get to doing it. Hopefully one of these days I’ll have a block set aside to try to tackle a few, but thought it couldn’t hurt to throw some of these suggestions out to hopefully spark anyone else into similar music to possibly have a crack at one of them.

August 8, 2018 at 8:46 pm in reply to: How to export a text list of all RB3 songs in my collection? #500202I was thinking it would be great if there were some type of script that could pull the following information out to a file:
Artist Name
Song Title
Which instruments are included (Guitar, Bass, Drums, Vocals, Keys etc)
I’m currently just creating an excel document with this info and putting columns for each, and putting an X in the columns for each instrument type for a song. Just getting this together before a friends bachelor party on Friday, seems it would be way easier looking at a printed sheet of songs and which instruments they’re set up for in a party scenario like this. Kind of like getting your karaoke songs lined up ahead of time.
Maybe something like this already exists, but couldn’t seem to find it? Anyways if it does please let me know so I can save myself the grueling hours!
Ah so it is possible to play a keys part on guitar, I had to enable ‘All instruments mode’ and was able to select the keys part with a guitar controller. I did already get the second part into the keys track, this is a harmony guitar part and not a duplicate. It worked just fine! Cool thing is I am able to use three guitar controllers, one to play the bass part, and two guitar controllers to play the two guitar parts (second guitar part on keys track). Just what I wanted to do, so hurray!
Took me a week or so to get back to this – I was not able to have a guitar controller select a keyboard track. I tested that with other songs in my library that have both guitar and keys parts, and I can’t select a keys part with a guitar controller. Looking at some other FAQs online I’m seeing this isn’t possible, but may be possible the other way around (keyboard can play a guitar or bass part?) https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/xbox360/971478-rock-band-3/answers/235234-is-it-possible-to-use-two-guitars-and-a-keyboard-at-the-same-time
I guess in short, this is not possible? Would love to get confirmation on this.
You could put the guitar part on the keys track so that way you can have the bassist free.
I will give this a shot later. Thanks!
