reach out to a moderator here (bansheeflyer, mrprezident, yaniv), i’m sure they’ll give it to you. i’m not part of it anymore, but i know it’s still up and going or i’d send you a link.

No one really uses the forums anymore. Join the Discord, I’m sure there’s more activity there.

When i first started charting, i used to run out of memory in reaper and i had no idea why. all i did was double click one track and every single track of a midi would open. then i realized, when i first loaded a midi into a project, EVERY track would be highlighted as selected. so if i clicked on one track, every track would open. i kept clicking on the next track, not realizing every track was selected still and then every track would open again, until it finally ran out of memory in reaper and crashed. in short, if you select more than one track, then look at ONLY one track, you will see those dark grey notes, as it’s loading every track you have selected but can only view one track at a time.

Ya, definitely feels like the community, for trying to expand to include other communities, collapsed on itself. The daily postings, the long-time custom authors, the tip sharing and the ease of use all dried up. I know all my customs were impacted as the comments were all deleted, the song details were all obliterated, old links are the new link again (restoring old, busted versions) and most of the information is just now placeholder text that has no meaning (0.00 for time of song length). Manually correcting it is near impossible since you can’t really complete fixing anything. And the time it takes to do it would cost a lot since there are quite a few to update. I know we lost some pretty steady charters that I used to collaborate with. The taste of the new site was/is sour in their mouth as well. I think better to be great for the few than mediocre for the many.

Such a pity. I realize it’s all at no cost to anyone, but I do agree about opening it up and letting others pitch in and attempt to bring it back to when it was thriving. I miss those times. If anyone’s organizing a way to a revival, hit me up. Happy to help where I can.

For what it’s worth though, there are still quite a few people that download when I post new stuff. More so here than anywhere else. I do miss people commenting though. It used to be pretty easy and people would do it as a thank you, which I really enjoyed. Now, you’re lucky to get a comment with every 5 or so you post.

Exactly. It happens on a LOT of official songs. You probably didn’t even notice when you played. Just as others won’t notice when they play yours. What you DO end up noticing is triplets that are trying to be lined up. That’s when drumming becomes cumbersome. But that’s usually due to improper authoring (not official, of course).

Yes. Just halve your beat track (e.g. remove every other beat marker) and that will slow down the animation.

i know it seems tedious, but if you REALLY wanted some of these, i bet it would be worth the effort to try re-searching on the db and official dlc to discover some are currently available. it will be quite a treat when you find some of the ones you want already done and ready to play. =-)

Stereo for backing track; that is, the one that plays for the song. For VOCAL backing tracks, they must be mono.

it’s not a simple fix. you have to properly tempo map it. this requires some intermediate to advanced skills using an editor. you can look through these very forums for tips, advice and help with tempo mapping, but really, the bottom line is, you’re gonna have to learn how to author a custom to fix that thing. it’s pretty much the first thing you do when authoring. even after you fix the tempo map, you could end up having to readjust everything anyway, so time to get in the game. =-)

I get this pretty consistently. Uploading just that song onto the drive again usually does the trick and avoids having to deal with the fallout of dumping the cache each time. There’s at least two songs every time I load up the game that become corrupt. So much so, I’ve taken to having a white board and jot down which ones fail then load those over onto the usb drive before my next play through. Annoying AF for sure.
Thank you so much BornGamerRob! Someone should upload it to the database as people are still searching there!
The site only allows original authors to re-upload their files (for whatever reason). So it will never be reattached unless the original author comes back and reattaches is. Which is pretty unlikely. But I see someone put the link in the comments of the song page, so I’ll continue to host the file there indefinitely so should be good (unless the music piracy site that took down the original mediafire file attacks the google servers too).

Yes, it’s in the docs. You should have left the notes in the template and then you wouldn’t have this issue. There needs to be at least something in the other difficulties, so just leave the 5 notes that were in the C3 template on the other tracks and you’ll be fine.

Most Weezer songs are no longer available since the author seems to have abandoned them all. I have compiled what I had and made it available online.

i have two songs on that list and they don’t have any issues on mine. i’ve played Suffer Well just the other night in fact. haven’t played Jolene in a while, but that thing has over 1000 downloads, so i’m sure i would have heard about issues.

lol. my OP probably sounded terrible since you don’t have the backstory. sorry about that! just to be clear here, it’s not the mods AT ALL, it’s the tech. been working with banshee on it, but the mystery hasn’t been solved yet. i’m still holding out hope. it’s why i can’t post my new songs to the forums or make any edits to some of my posts. and because it’s so random, it’s been hard to figure out. but i keep posting and trying and when a post sticks i just leave them alone.
