I still need the Albuquerque project from Gigakoops to start working on that. Otherwise, I’ve got Polka Power here in my queue; just need to finish one more song for October 11 and then it’s all Weird Al all the time. (A helpful note to others: Don’t schedule eight songs for three consecutive weeks. Ugh. I mean, unless you’re farottone, I guess.)

The other stuff I’m working on got in the way, but I should have expert bass and guitar done in a few hours. I’ll send the project over to the rest of you guys after that.
September 26, 2013 at 9:21 pm #406825update:
started White & Nerdy’s vocals today. Since Al raps really fast in this song, most of the notes are 1/64 instead of the usual shortest note 2/64 (I think that’s how its supposed to be?). I am almost done drums on Albuquerque as well. Just that drum solo left at the end. As far as Gump goes, I think I may have to re do some of the guitar as bass charts, as they don’t really match well at all. Another Rides the Bus should be in playtesting very very soon.
September 27, 2013 at 1:43 pm #406860I have Albuquerque from Gigakoops. I just need to finish up my final song for October 11, and then I’ll be working exclusively on Albuquerque vocals and Polka Power!
@drummerockband: Nope, 1/64th is totally fine. 2/64th tubes tend to look a little better in the UI, IMO, so I usually don’t go any shorter, but there’s not a STRONG reason not to. You might even want to consider using the 1/128th grid for those parts.
September 27, 2013 at 3:38 pm #406873Consider going for a slightly higher scroll speed, too, to make the short tubes seem longer.
September 27, 2013 at 4:40 pm #406891Consider going for a slightly higher scroll speed, too, to make the short tubes seem longer.I already set the scroll speed to “faster”. I think its the one before crazy. Is that too fast?

(Also that one better be labeled as Devil Tier on Vocals lol)
September 28, 2013 at 12:34 am #406920My chart for “Hardware Store” was played on the official Rock Band stage at PAX Prime this year and the crowd got up and cheered for the vocalist every time they made it through “that one part”.
So I think people are going to be stoked.
Also, I know this is a really slow response, but Drummerrockband was asking about how to chart sound effects for vocals, burping and panting, and while it’s right that burps could be charted as or talkies, panting is supposed to be charted as “ah” or “hah” talkies, since that’s more likely to be picked up by the microphone.
September 28, 2013 at 5:26 pm #406951“Polka Power!” is probably going to be the crowning achievement of my authoring career to date. I’ve finished the intro, Wannabe, and Flagpole Sitta on expert PK, and…just…dang, man. Here’s the intro polka, for reference:

Vocals will be a cakewalk after hunting for some of these PK pitches.

that right there is why I have a fear of charting polka medleys by him.
September 28, 2013 at 8:05 pm #406962Did we want to have a special name for this pack, instead of having just “Weird Al” Yankovic pack? I was thinking something like:
– One Weird Pack
– Parody Party Pack
– “Weird Al” Birthday Pack
– Gump, the stupid, nerdy, Amish guy who rode the bus to the hardware store and then to Albuquerque, but wouldn’t eat it, so he sued everyone and became trigger happy with Polka Power Pack. (I’m joking of course, but it still took me a while to think of this, haha)
that’s all I got. Maybe we can use one of these to make the title of the pack more interesting
September 28, 2013 at 8:08 pm #406963“Weird Al” Birthday Pack+1
September 29, 2013 at 12:57 am #406981I’d go for “Weird Al pack” or “Weird Al megapack”, mostly to avoid burning out on unique/non-standard pack names. I’m happy to go with the thread consensus, of course.
edit: I would reference his birthday in the blog post.
October 5, 2013 at 8:49 pm #407439The Alpocalypse approaches…
Would anyone object to “Polka Power!” starting and ending the video? It has such a great high-energy start and end, and I think it’s very iconic for Weird Al.
