Transferring to Rockband 3

Hello! I am a complete newbie, so please be kind

Is there someone that would be willing to show me how to transfer files from C3 to my hard drive? I have watched videos and read for about the last hour and still am lost. Any help is SO appreciated, this would make for a very happy Hubby and family

If you’re on the Xbox 360, are you sure you have the EA disc – not the Mad Catz version of Rock Band 3?
Do you have C3CONtools installed? It makes it very easy to transfer your custom files (e.g., “song_rb3con”) to a USB flash drive via the “RBtoUSB” button. If you get a big enough USB flash drive, you might never have to worry about transferring the files to the Xbox internal hard drive.

Hello! Thank you SO much for your reply! Yes we have the EA disc. I have tried to download C3CON and unfortunately I cannot get the link to download. I think once I am able to get that downloaded I MIGHT have more luck!

If it’s downloading as a RAR, you can use a program such as WinRAR or WinZip (either one works) to extract the contents from the RAR to a folder of your choosing.
If you still need a download for C3ConTools, I’ll provide a mirror download for you to use here. Make sure to download WinRAR (my choice) to extract it.

As CUTstudi0s explained, WinRAR is a perfect choice. I’ve added a note to the C3CONtools thread to make this more apparent. It’s one of those faulty assumptions we geeks tend to make that “everybody knows how to use a RAR file”.
