I’ll keep this one short for now and edit in some specifics a little later. We’re looking to do a themed release for July 5th in honour/celebration/acknowledgement of Independence Day in the United States (July 4th) and Canada Day here in Canadiania (July 1st). We are titling the theme “Americanada”, I think (farottone can correct me on this).

 

Obviously we’re interested in getting you chaps involved if there’s anything you’d like to contribute to the theme. We don’t just want tracks by American or Canadian artists, and we’re willing to cheat a little, so thematically the songs or artists should feature America or Canada (or derived variants, like American and Canadian) in their titles. Or you know, the anthems or something.

 

The current list of spoke for songs & authors follows — if you’re interested in a collab on any of these, you can speak with the author, but I don’t know if people are interested or not. If you’ve got something to add, please reply to it in this thread. Ideally we’ll have these things ready for playtesting in about two weeks (I know, that’s a tight timeline) and ready for recording a week prior to the release date.

It’s gonna be “A slice of Americanada pack”. And, yes, you’re welcome for the awesomeness that is the title of the pack.

 

If nothing bad happens, Horse with no name will have a rhythm version.

 

Also, it’s probably gonna be July 4th or the day before that, to comply with the Nyx Rule that wants song to be released right before party time.

Since American Idiot is already in RB, would anyone be interested if I did Canadian Idiot by “Weird Al” Yankovic? (I already have the chart from Green Day Rock Band, I could just re tempo map it and fix some notes and add vocals. Plus I’m a Weird Al fan so that’s why I brought it up.)

The Gordon Lightfoot track is proving to be a pain and I don’t know if I’ll be able to get it done and playtested and out the door on time. I’ll give it a solid shot this weekend and make a final call by Sunday.

I don’t think I’ll get Canadian Idiot done in time, sorry guys. I’ve just been kind of busy lately with school, and graduating and all that jazz. I hope that’s okay. I apologize.

My 4-pack is almost done, there are at least another 2 songs, so the release is solid. Anything more is gravy, espher, don’t feel pressured into doing it.

I may be able to help you on the Rammstein song, at least for the guitar, bass and drums (and maybe keys) parts.

I havent even touched it since I have so many other commitments. I was going to work off a guitar/bass custom I found. if you can do drums and maybe check the quality of what is already done that would be great. them I can add vocals and keys.

ill send you the project tonight.

 

so yeah i’ll upload the project tonight, you guys work it out (he offered to do drums), you can fix the existing bass and guitar. it would help a lot if all I have to do is vocals/keys. anything you guys can do to help is greatly appreciated. i’m doing so many things at once it’s crazy.
