      Look ma! More hints!

      * This week’s DLC kicks off with a three-pack from a band new to Rock Band. Who’s up for some rugby?

      * I’m pretty sure this artist cranked up the volume of this single as Mumford & Sons cried themselves to sleep. (Yes, also topical.)

      * This single, the broadest of this band’s songs, has its name repeated four times in three verses. We can only hope the little bear is listening. (Also, it’s naked.)

      * This touching pop song by a “solo” artist was featured in three albums in six years and was also nominated for an Academy Award. Pretty wild.

      * This track is this band’s second-highest charting single (the highest was featured on a Rock Band disc), and marks the third song from the band that is actually sung by the lead guitarist.

      * This heavy metal classic has the interesting trivia tidbit of (apparently) being influenced by “O Come, All Ye Faithful”. Tipper Gore hates Christmas.

This comment is so funny, and I’m not allowed to tell you why. <img decoding=” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_frown.gif”>

Down Under and Overkill are RB3 DLC

Eh. I’m not good with hints but anyways. I’m just hoping for some Genesis and Phil Collins personally. That or another Gun’s N’ Roses song really (Knocking on Heavens Door). There isn’t too much songs that I really want that you guys are probably working on.

After one of their more popular songs was once used in a BBC commercial for rugby a while back, I can only hope that this is Ben Folds Five.

Uh oh at the second hint. Does this mean another trendy pop-non-rock something track? I liked the past week’s track but I don’t wanna get sucked in or whatever.

This sounds almost exactly like Burnin’ For You by Blue Oyster Cult.

You know, I suggested this clue to espher. Looks like it’s not as simple as I thought it was.

as the community advocate for them on the official forums, and the m&s reference. I think yes.

Hints explanation time yay! (zomg spoilers)

This week’s DLC kicks off with a three-pack from a band new to Rock Band. Who’s up for some rugby?

This hint references the Simple Plan three-pack, as the artist was not previously featured in Rock Band (unless I screwed up), and all three songs come from the album No Pads, No Helmets…Just Balls, which also happens to be a “tagline” of sorts for rugby.

I’m pretty sure this artist cranked up the volume of this single as Mumford & Sons cried themselves to sleep. (Yes, also topical.)

This hint is a nod to Alice Cooper‘s “No More Mr. Nice Guy”, since he was kind of a dick to Mumford & Sons’ classification as a “rock” band. So, yeah. Topical? Maybe a little old? A little too roundabout? Sure, but it also tied in to the hint for the M&S track from before.

This single, the broadest of this band’s songs, has its name repeated four times in three verses. We can only hope the little bear is listening. (Also, it’s naked.)

The Beatles‘ “Across the Universe” features the lyric ‘Across the Universe’ four times in its three verses, and was used in an IRM sent towards Polaris — a star that is part of Ursa Minor. The “broadest” comment was a subtle nod to the title, while the naked comment has to do with the mix (as Orange Harrison elaborates on in this week’s blog post).

This touching pop song by a “solo” artist was featured in three albums in six years and was also nominated for an Academy Award. Pretty wild.

A Paul Simon solo track, a different mix of “Father and Daughter” was featured on 2006’s Surprise and 2007’s The Essential Paul Simon, but made its debut as part of the soundtrack for The Wild Thornberrys Movie.

This track is this band’s second-highest charting single (the highest was featured on a Rock Band disc), and marks the third song from the band that is actually sung by the lead guitarist.

As correctly guessed by ventolin, this was for Blue Oyster Cult‘s “Burnin’ For You”. It joins “(Don’t Fear) The Reaper” and “Godzilla” as tracks sung by Buck Dharma.

This heavy metal classic has the interesting trivia tidbit of (apparently) being influenced by “O Come, All Ye Faithful”. Tipper Gore hates Christmas.

Last but not least, Twisted Sister‘s well-known “We’re Not Gonna Take It” was apparently partially influenced by “O Come, All Ye Faithful” (also by Slade and the Sex Pistols — figure that combo out). Of course, it was also one of the Filthy Fifteen that lead to the creation of the PMRC — an organization co-founded by Tipper Gore — and the super awesome Parental Advisory Sticker that we see on CDs all over the place.

                  See you next week!
