Hi everyone!
i’m brand new to this forum and i need some help. After downloading few customs here and reading about authoring songs i decided to give it a shot myself. i’ve seen some video tutorial and especially the one from pksage but i have a really hard time when it comes to tempo mapping. So the first step, right!! i managed to find a multitrack version of “Ties that bind” by Alter Bridge and i don’t know wich track to choose. As , for exemple, i have separated channels for lead guitar, each having their “pikes” in their waveform, it’s hard to refer to one of these. Should i stick to one channel? or change for the drum track, knowing that kick, snare and tom and cymbals are separated too?
If someone would be able to help me , i could finally get started on authoring notes for this song.
Thanks everyone.

Step 1 is reading the docs, specifically the page that explains how to tempo map:
http://pksage.com/rbndocs/index.php?tit … MIDI_Setup
There you will find basically everything you need about tempo mapping. I mention step 1 because the fact that you’re not automatically using the drums track makes me think you didn’t go through that page first. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif”>

as a matter of fact i didn’t read this doc you’re right! i’m ashamed. I read your tutorial and watched pksage’s video but that’s all.
So i should stick with the drum track as it is more obvious, although the song begins with guitar. But anyway, yesterdsay i was looking for some customs in the forum and i found the one i was trying to authors. Quite a shock!
But i don’t really agree with the way it was charted so do you think it’s okay if i try to “correct” it?
and one more thing : in the doc you pointed at me, there’s is a “custom mixing macro” mentionned to give the sound a better audio, according to Harmonix standards , and give the waveform a “clearer look” by enhancing her width.
So is there a way to find this macro?

Metronome is your friend. Activate it and tap your foot to the song: it’s very easy to notice when the tempo wanders off.

You can either contact the author or do your own version. Remember that authors pour countless hours into one song, so make sure you always respect the work they do even when it’s not up to par, as we ask people to respect yours. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_wink.gif”>

I never had a need to enhance a waveform, even less so for multitracks, so I’m gonna have to defer to somebody who worked with that. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif”>
May 11, 2015 at 2:27 pm #445161Thanks again!
I might try to do this with a metronome now.
Of course i respect the work put in thoses charts. Juste looking at aller those notes everywhere ma de me Dizzy ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />
I’ll see what i want to do with that as i’d prefer to do my own.
As for the macro , i’ll let it appart. If you say, you dont need it i won’t too.
