Just wanted to post today because of how sad I was when I realized CCC removed all offical RB4 songs. I mean, I get the idea of supporting harmonix by doing this, but why not just wait until RB4 comes out to pull them? I mean, I can’t speak for everybody, but I know for myself that having a custom of an RB4 song won’t stop me from pre-ording RB4. I don’t know, maybe I’m the only one, but I just wanted to put my thoughts out there.
July 16, 2015 at 2:10 am #450424Somewhere, little Timmy sees his favorite song in the RB4 setlist. Since he can’t download it from C3 anymore, he puts away the dishes every night and mows the lawn so Mom will buy him that shiny XBone and RB4.
Timmy is happy.
Mom is happy.
Harmonix is happy.
Rhythm games survive and C3 is happy.
July 16, 2015 at 3:07 am #450427i really don’t think someone will go “oh i was gonna get rock band 4 for somebody told me and the outfield, but they’re rb3 customs so i’m not buying it”, but i see it as a courtesy thing more than anything else.

It’s Timmy.
July 16, 2015 at 3:37 am #450432Good old Timmy.
July 16, 2015 at 3:48 am #450434Personally i thought this but then…when do they ever put good shit on the discs? i only really like a few on disc songs on each of the Rock Bands. So whatever you know. Shit happens ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_cheeky.001.gif” />
July 16, 2015 at 5:51 am #450439I’m glad someone took advantage of the South Park pun. But, I mostly just wanted the customs so I can play and try to FC them. I can’t bring RB4 with me to college next year so I’m really eager to get through as many songs as I can now. Hype.
P.S. I respect what you guys are doing, I’m just impatient ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />

I have to ask though and this goes for everyone talking about it: we released Metropoli in March 2014, Friday I’m in Love in May 2013, who hasn’t gotten around to download them? ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif”>
July 16, 2015 at 1:06 pm #450448Well, I still occasionally get old stuff…
July 16, 2015 at 3:42 pm #450458I understand the concept behind it all but I have to agree with this topic. They are the same songs but they are for different systems. Harmonix decided to release RB4 on XB1 and PS4 and leave last generation systems behind. I can see if they were going to release them on Xbox360 to pull the songs but not this. RB4 has a new interface, new features, etc.
Using this logic, shouldn’t everyone delete these songs since they will be “official” songs. We all know that won’t happen but that is the concept here…..
July 16, 2015 at 3:49 pm #450459Yes, ideally everyone should delete them. I know I will once I get RB4. But C3 can’t force people do to anything. It can, however, stop offering the files. I for one don’t want them on my server, since I don’t want HMX to have to tell me to take them down.
July 16, 2015 at 4:02 pm #450461I understand the concept behind it all but I have to agree with this topic. They are the same songs but they are for different systems. Harmonix decided to release RB4 on XB1 and PS4 and leave last generation systems behind. I can see if they were going to release them on Xbox360 to pull the songs but not this. RB4 has a new interface, new features, etc.RB4 is also going to be lacking in some respects compared to RB3: no pro strings, no keys of any sort, and potentially fewer official tracks, at least to begin with, depending on how they decide to roll out the legacy updates they’re promising. Those differences put together with a treasure trove of customs could be enough to make someone decide to delay or even decide against purchasing a current-gen console and RB4, especially someone like me who has no other reason to go current-gen at this point. But, if such a someone hears there are songs they particularly like in the upcoming game, and it is impossible or at least more difficult to get those songs into the current game, that someone might be more tempted to buy after all. That in turn means more money in Harmonix’s pockets which in turn means more love for, or at least less lawyer-sharpened animosity toward, a customs community that respects the company that made this whole shebang possible.
Like it or not, C3 is wise to be sensitive to any possibility, however remote, of causing lost sales for Harmonix.
July 16, 2015 at 4:16 pm #450463Basically we all have to remember that we are parking our car in our co-worker’s space. He lets us do it because he’s nice so we buy him coffee in the morning and clear the space whenever he needs to come to work in his car. We can’t take it for granted and stop offering coffee or rolling our eyes if he asks to leave the space open for next week because he needs it. If we do that and take that for granted he might just say “you know what? I’m gonna need that space from now on”. And nobody wants to lose that parking space…
July 16, 2015 at 4:21 pm #450464Goddammit farottone stop comparing coke to music. Oh wait, wrong forum.
July 16, 2015 at 4:42 pm #450466Does that mean Activision is that douche a few spots down who we occasionally siphon gas from?
