So I tried changing the song ID for both songs, both using numeric codes that were vastly different, and still both songs refuse to load together. Your Best Nightmare loads now, but not Death by Glamour. I’m starting to wonder if maybe I need to rename the song or something like that to show up.

Got it all resolved thanks to Jarhead’s help. The files are now uploaded and put on the database.

So I actually did some testing:

 

Alphanumeric song ids DO work! And online too! I tried it with Nuclear by Mike Oldfield and This Night of Ours by Pinkie Guy, so if you want to see for yourself, check those files, you can check the structure of the file in the Con tools as usual, and you can see that I used the original song ids used in the RB3 customs. I think they weren’t working for gigakoops due to the other thing he forgot that makes multiple work together. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_wink.gif” /> And they definitely work online. I just played both of them with a friend.

 

Also I edited the OP with a smoother tutorial on converting, this one include how to get sections. They’re gotten in virtually the same way you get custom sections in RB3 if anyone’s wondering btw.

So an interesting tidbit, while I didn’t find any unique artist challenges in Tour Challenges pertaining to artists only available as customs (such as Toby Fox), I did find “Sugar” was now included in the System of a Down artist challenge. So at the very least, the game adds these customs to pre-existing challenges.

That’s interesting that RB2 accepts them for online stuff, on RB3 it doesn’t at all.

Interesting, in my testing last night no customs showed up in challenges at all

 

However as a side effect adding customs seems to have glitched out the Foo Fighters Pack 02 challenge for me… Adding I Predict a Riot in it instead of Lonely As You

I downloaded several customs the other day (the Toby Fox songs, Sugar, Cigaro, What You Hoped to Find, and Taking Flight) but Megalovania, Oh My…/Death By Glamour, and Hopes And Dreams/Save The World didn’t work. Are those working for anyone else? When I pick those songs the game ends up freezing on the loading screen.

Just a quick add on to this, if you change the rating in the DTA to 1 and sign the CON as a RB1 save you can play customs in Lego Rock Band

They don’t work on Rock Band 1, though. I actually tried it for the hell of it.

 

To think, if HMX had made a downloadable port of the Rock Band 1 songs like the Green Day, LEGO, and Rock Band 2 exports, we wouldn’t have ANY (non-JTAG/RGH) Rock Band customs.

 

It’s a shame GH5/BH/GH:WOR customs will probably never happen.
