I have the keys charted in reaper. But when I try to compile the song in magma it says that the PART KEYS track is empty. I think I’ve had this problem before but I have no clue how to fix it. Any ideas?
February 18, 2015 at 6:04 pm #438702Do you have pro keys charted? I remember something along the lines if you have no pro keys, and you have the “auto-gen pro keys” selected in Magma there may be issues?

I also have the auto Gen pro keys enabled. I disabled it and still says the same thing?
February 18, 2015 at 6:11 pm #438704I’m sure an admin or something else will chime in soon. However, if you want me to take a look right now, PM me the .rpp link and I’ll look into what might be doing it.
I’m sure it’s something simple, just not obvious. Don’t know off the top of my head without seeing, however.

Let me get the rpp uploaded then I’ll send it to ya.
February 18, 2015 at 6:31 pm #438707Make sure you’re on the latest version of Magma, as it directly addresses the issue.
Also make sure even if you’re doing expert only that you have something in the lower difficulties.
February 18, 2015 at 6:35 pm #4387091) Your PART KEYS track needs to have a note in the reductions as well (just like other instruments). I just threw a yellow on the H/M/E under the first note and that error went away.
2) You also need to provide a the pro key files, even if you do not have pro keys. All you need for the pro_key tracks is to add in a range marker in the first measure, and you can hand magma just those (no notes needed). Check off “auto-gen pro keys” and “animations”, and then on the difficulty level markers area, just uncheck Pro for keys.
Those got it to compile for me.
Edit:
Just as expected with someone helping ha. Yeah, I’m still on an older Magma, and I do remember hearing about that fix. You do need the reduction notes, but the second part seems like it will be unnecessary with the Magma upgrade.

I’m on thages version of magma. I went through and added some notes in the lower difficulties. But it is still saying the same things.
February 18, 2015 at 6:48 pm #438712Doesn’t sound right. Post the MIDI (not the RPP). Does MIDI Tester say the same error? And triple check you have the latest version.

I’m sorry about this. I usually don’t have this problem when I make customs.
February 19, 2015 at 1:40 am #438747There’s something off here.
Either that MIDI you put up is not the right one, or there is no way that you can tell me you expected that to compile. There are two rows of notes in easy keys, two rows of notes in between easy and medium keys, one note on medium red, one note on hard red, and no notes on expert. This is not a keys chart by any stretch of the imagination.
So…wrong MIDI? Upload both the MIDI and RPP just to make sure.
March 9, 2015 at 3:39 pm #440212I’m getting an error that says that there are no ranges in the easy medium or hard for pro keys. I have expert pro keys charted and I also have a range with a note inside the range charted for E/M/H. Any ideas
March 9, 2015 at 5:41 pm #440225I’m throwing this out just because this bit me this past weekend: make sure all the necessary tracks are unmuted when you export a MIDI file out of REAPER. When trying to compile my latest custom I kept getting an error saying there were overdrive paths for keys but not pro keys. I checked again and again to make sure the overdrive paths lined up on both. Finally I opened the exported MIDI itself and discovered there was no expert pro keys track, and then remembered I had muted that track so the reference notes wouldn’t play over the song audio. Needless to say I felt a bit stupid.

If you don’t want to hear the clicker or the actual MIDI output, just turn off the FX. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_wink.gif”> That way you export all your tracks (make sure you delete the ones you don’t use) and no harm is done. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif”>
March 9, 2015 at 6:11 pm #440229Wow, I feel like a complete dumbo. I had no idea that the tracks were muted to begin with. That was exactly my problem. Wow, that was sad lol
