Plus a special bonus vocal upgrade from Farottone.
That guy is so sexy…
January 9, 2016 at 6:13 pm #461798When I came up with my 3 picks, I mostly did it with Power Metal songs with particularly interesting solos or guitar parts in mind. I also thought it would be alright to take a few liberties with how well-known the songs I picked were, because Nunchuck’s picks were amazing!
All three of the Power Metal songs have great guitar parts, and are all very challenging. Valhalla’s solo is one that I’ve wanted to chart for a while, because I haven’t really heard anything else played the same way, and it should be a unique experience.
Wall of Sound has been charted a bunch of times among my FoF.net friends, as a sort of running joke, so I figured I’d throw my hat into the ring with a chart of it as well, full band, to boot. This one is a lot more interesting than Valhalla, as the entire song is very fun and goes all over the place on the guitar. The solo gets very fast at the end, but is still a real treat to play.
Leaving All Behind seems like something that was made in an attempt to emulate DragonForce during the peak of their popularity, but Cellador knocked it out of the park on this one, and did something really awesome. The guitar work on it does seem DragonForce-esque, and is insanely challenging on guitar, but there’s so many good riffs in the song, and a very long and fast solo to keep the guitar part busy.
All in all, these songs are mostly for the guitarists out there, I started off as a FoF guitar-only charter, but here we are now, and I’ll try not to forget my roots.
We hope you guys enjoy this release, and anything we’ve got cooking for the future! In particular, next week means a lot to me, so stay tuned for that, if you’re interested!

January 11, 2016 at 9:50 pm #461886Hey there Rockers,
It is Monday, we hope it hasn’t been too bad. This week’s release is a special one. It will be bad-ass charting machine Sy’s birthday is this weekend. We have some awesome songs in store for you. In fact, our next month is packed with awesome special releases. Alright, more on that later. Let’s get to those clues.
Hint for song # 1 – The first song of the our Sygenysis Birthday Extravaganza is a great track from early 1970. This track reached #4 on billboard chart. The band started as a house band at a popular Florida music venue.
Hint for song # 2 – Next up, we have a great band from the UK returning to the Rock Band stage. This song title is slang for sexual intercourse. The song features keyboards by the host of a long-running BBC music show.
Hint for song # 3 – This next track comes from the 5th album by a band that is loved worldwide. The track comes from an album that was the last for a popular guitarist and the first with the drummer they still have today. The song was in a popular racing game.
Hint for song # 4 – Our next offering comes from a popular hard rock band. The song is an eerie, keys-heavy track. The song shares its name with an actress that was one bad mother.
Hint for song # 5 – Our fifth track this week is a great song. This popular heavy metal track was on the 4th album by this band. It was the first album with their rhythm guitarist on vocals.
Hint for song # 6 – Our final track this week is a slightly shortened version of a song that was recorded for an infamous holiday special. The band has gone through line-up changes so big, they had to change the name of the band for each incarnation.
Come on back Saturday and wish Sy many more happy birthdays. While you are here, you can pick up six great new tracks!
Have a good week — see ya Saturday!

Release Notes
Normally we do the notes for the songs we picked. This week I didn’t have any picks, but there are some amazing songs here, so I have a few things to say about some of them.
Joan Crawford is an awesome and haunting song. I highly endorse it. It is also one of the most fun keys songs I’ve seen. Luckily the stars aligned — we were able to collaborate and bring you pro keys and pitched vocals for this masterpiece. Thanks to the Godfather of Customs, Farottone! You all know him as a lean, mean charting machine, but he is also one of the kindest, most genuine people I have ever had the privilege of speaking to. I have mad respect for that cat. RESPECT!!!
The Scorpions song is so cool. It is an old Uli Jon Roth Scorpions song. I love the guitar in it, it just rocks!!!! Make sure you check it out.
I’m a fan of Corrosion of Conformity and Clean My Wounds is excellent and fun to play.
I’m thrilled with how this week’s releases turned out.
You Rockers all get a great Birthday gift for Sy’s Birthday! Here is to many many more!!!
