Hey there Rockers,

The weekend has finally returned. Saturday morning means it is time for another fix for all you RB addicts. This week at the Funhouse, we cooked up some awesome tracks for all the peeps. This release features 9 tracks: six new tracks and 3 vocal upgrades. 5 of the 6 new tracks have pitched vocals. It’s gonna be great!

 

First, let me take a moment to thank our brothers in customs that helped out this week. First off, the Colonel32dll joins us again this week. The Colonel is an awesome addition for a few weeks now. He does great work and is a helluva good dude. Give him some thanks, and support anything he does, because he will rock the shit out of it. Colonel, you rock!!!

Also this week, we have a return from Dash Riprock. Dash is always awesome. He has done awesome work for us many times, and this time is no different. He took a song that was only okay with un-pitched vocals and turned it into a barn-burner of an awesome track. If you don’t know the song S.O.B., make sure you check it out!!! It is awesome for vocalists and so much fun to play. Dash, you rock!!! Please make sure to thank Dash and support his work — it is always amongst the best around. He never disappoints.

Release Notes

This week, every song was really good! So damn good, I’ll give you a little low-down on the whole week:

 

Berzerk is a raucous good time. Billy Squire and Beastie Boys samples enhance the incredible rhyming of Eminem on this track. Add in production by Rick Rubin and you have one bad ass song!

 

(Just Like) Starting Over is a song I have had on my list for quite some time. I remember being 9 years old and crying over John Lennon’s death after seeing it on TV. I was a huge Casey Kasem’s American Top 40 fan and I will always remember hearing this song every week for a while and thinking at the time it was the best song I ever heard. Enjoy this one, it is a great song.

 

Ohio is a protest song that was released as a single by Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young. It would later be on anthologies by both CSNY and Neil Young, explaining why many credit it as a Neil Young song.

 

Blackout is the title cut from the Scorpions 1982 masterpiece. It features broken glass at the end, that always stuck out to me. That, and those forks in the dude’s eyes on the album cover. This track rocks hard!!

 

SOB is a catchy song. It sounds happy and energetic, though it is actually a plea for help from a drinker succumbing to the ravages of alcohol. Yet, somehow it sounds great and makes people want to drink. Regardless, it is a super-catchy and fun song. It may be the best song this week for vocalists.

 

Hanaji is an anime song. I had never heard it before. It is a crazy, dizzyingly chaotic song that is fun to listen to, but will be extremely difficult to play. If you are looking for a crazy challenge this may be your song.

Thank you to everyone for all the kind posts. We do this because it is a true passion for us. You peeps make this whole thing worth all the time and the effort that we put into each week’s release. One last thing, this week we lost a musical genius that the world has never known the likes of. Prince will forever be missed. This planet is not as good as it was before losing him. Prince has been a part of my life for for more than 35 years. I still love his work. From Controversy and 1999 all the way up to HardRockLover and Baltimore from this past year. He is a genius that will never be replaced. Thank you Prince, for everything you did for us all.

Someday you will hear more from me on Prince. For now let’s just try to get past our sorrows.
