Hey there Rockers,
We wanted to thank everyone for the super-successful “3 is a Magic Number March”.

We sent out a ton of ballots and got back a ton of votes. This was very cool. From the beginning of the Funhouse thread, we had a vision for the Hints Hall of Fame. You guys exceeded our wildest expectations! To our delight, every week, the peeps would stop in to check out the trivia! We kept track, knowing someday we would have something really cool to do for the people that play.

The idea of sending out ballots and letting the peeps vote on packs seemed to be a great way to give back. So, we made up ballots, planned a strategy and set the ball a-rolling. HHoF peeps requested ballots and sent them back to us. This is quite possibly the first time anything like this was tried here. We picked out 8 artists from our lists of bands and made a ballot. The vote counting was something that could end up tied so, we decided that the 2 artists with the most bottom votes would be eliminated. These 2 artists will show up someday, but not as 3 packs, so I’ll not mention them until it is time.

When we started this thread, we only wanted a few simple things:

• to bring the peeps a regular release they could count on
• fun and games for the peeps
• to be the best thread we can be

We wanted it to be more than just some casual thread… We wanted it to be the place for fun and great charts, so we give it our best every single week.

We have been at this for over a year of 6 songs per week, with hints. What we have done for the last year + is not innovation anymore; it is the norm you have come to expect. Expectation?! That means it is the time to shake things up a bit!

 

“Whut, what are you talking about?… Changes can’t be good”

 

Well, we were the first ‘other customs’ thread to have weekly releases, weekly hints and all the special event-type things we have done. These things all set a standard. No one, to my knowledge, ever took ballots and gave the peeps a voice or choice. We strive to improve all the time. Plainly said, we want to be the best and aren’t afraid of the work involved in innovation. We want to set the bar high. We want people to be inspired! We want to challenge ourselves and other authors to be creative. So, this is our year two mission.

Coming soon, we have some new innovations that will expand your role in this thread. We have some very neat plans for you. These new additions should breathe new life into this thread and move it on to the next level.

#1 – We will be expanding our coverage of music. We hope to chart some genres we haven’t explored too much. Dance, reggae, rap, punk, funk, pop and some other interesting things will start to hit our releases.

#2 – One week a month will now be a 3 pack week. The 3 packs went over very well, so we will try to do this more often.

#3 – Rockfights!!!! Rockfights are a once a month battle of the bands, in which you the peeps, vote to decide who wins and gets a release from us at the Funhouse. There will be more info to follow very soon.
As a quick overview, we will once a month promote a Rockfight!! card. There will be a voting poll. No need to be in HHoF. You only need the desire to have your voice heard. In general, there will be a main event and some undercard fights. Rockfights could be band vs band, song vs song, genre vs genre, era vs era(example 80’s vs 70’s), cover vs original or many other possibilities. This is limitless!!
