Hello, I have a friend having trouble with customs. This is what she messaged me.
Our customs are playing on TU1 and it’s driving me fucking crazy! Vox can’t activate with the back button and my track is like see through. It almost makes me like seasick or something. My eyes are totally bugged out. I’ve deleted TU4 off the stick twice now and re-downloaded it. Nothing works though. And it’s telling us to create a new save file every time. I can deal with that part I guess, it’s just annoying. Anyone have any ideas?
Anyone have any clues on what might of happened? Thank you.
May 8, 2013 at 9:05 am #399363If you have TU4 anywhere on the system, it will get picked up. Check that the system is configured so that it has two USB sticks of identical structure: TU#, cache file, gamer account, savefile. On one TU4, on the other TU5. No TU, cache, accounts, etc. on the HDD, only DLC. Only difference between the two sticks: on the TU4 stick you load your custom songs. That’s it, it can’t not work. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_wink.gif”>
May 8, 2013 at 11:13 am #399373She posted this for me. We actually use the GoD for online play and the disc for customs…so we only end up using 1 stick. This may be asking for a mess in the future, idk. The weird thing is that the customs worked just fine for a while. My husband played customs the previous day and the next day when we went to play them again, it was messed up. TU4 is on the customs stick, but it’s acting like it’s not there.
We did end up finding another xbox that our kid hauled off with to grandma’s house, so I’m gonna grab that this weekend and, if the disc drive still works, that will be just for customs. If the disc drive doesn’t work in that xbox though, I’m thinking the following would work….moving the GoD to the online stick, along with our cache, both GTs, and both save files. That would work, right?
Neal has been awesome for helping me, but I’ll quit bugging him and ask here instead. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_cheeky.001.gif” />
May 8, 2013 at 11:20 am #399376Posting here doesn’t make it any easier for poor old Neal ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif”>

Can you post a screenshot from Party Buffalo / Modio / Horizon / whatever of your USB stick, with all folders expanded, that shows where your TU4 is? Let’s make sure it’s in the right folder.

May 8, 2013 at 11:35 am #399378I didn’t think TU5 would be needed on that stick if the GoD was on it, so I’m glad I asked. I’ll make sure it’s on there.
Yep, I’m just about to leave for work, but when I get back, I’ll get a screen shot with all folders expanded. I may get to it this afternoon, but it will most likely be early this evening.
eta: just wondering, what kind of stuff could happen with 1 stick? I’m hoping by this weekend, we’ll be doing this the proper way (not using 1 stick). Just curious.
May 8, 2013 at 11:37 am #399379I didn’t think TU5 would be needed on that stick if the GoD was on it.It’s not, but it CAN’T be on the HDD, that’s why you need to move it off the Xbox. You can delete it if use the GoD version, I suppose.
May 8, 2013 at 12:06 pm #399380Gotcha, thanks. Yeah we dont have it on the HDD. Just on the tu5 stick that isn’t being used atm.
May 8, 2013 at 1:09 pm #399383I want to say thanks everyone for helping. I know I wasn’t much of help but I figured posting here would be a good start.
May 8, 2013 at 3:16 pm #399389In case you haven’t solved the problem, I use a different setup than most that may work for you. I generally store all of my customs, TU4, and my save game (for customs) on one flash drive, then I keep my official songs on my hard drive. Whenever I want to play online, I simply download TU5 directly to the the hard drive of my Xbox. I know this is probably redundant now, but it may help someone in the future with a similar problem.

May 9, 2013 at 10:38 am #399436Everything looks okay *except*… in my Party Buffalo, TU4 shows up as “tu00000001_00000000”, and yours shows “tu00000001_00000000 (1)”. Maybe rename it to get rid of the ” (1)”?
May 9, 2013 at 12:32 pm #399443Okay thanks neal, I’ll get that renamed this evening.
May 10, 2013 at 10:35 pm #399507We ended up playing online last night and are again tonight. I’ll get the file renamed this weekend and let you guys know what happens. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />
