Magma compiling problem

I’m trying to compile a song, and it’s giving me a problem I haven’t had before.

I click build song and it starts fine, but when it gets to “Lip Sync Compiler: Starting…”, it just hangs.

No errors, no freezing, no crash, it just stays there like it’s working, but no progress is being made.

Not much else to say, and I have no idea what to do?

    I just noticed this.

When the problem occurs, the button that says “cancel” as it’s building, changes to “close” as it does when it’s done or there’s an error, but neither of these are the case. As I said, it just stops at “Lip Sync Compiler: Starting…”.

    Here’s a pic of it:

I tried compiling another song that I have previously compiled to test, and it worked just fine, but the problem for this song persists.

All good with the dry files? I would do a re-render of then audio files, I think I got this a while back.

I would also suggest you create a proper EVENTS track.

You mean the Dryvox tracks? afaik, they’re good.

And the song audio is good, I just rendered it the same as I always do and never had a problem before.

There is an EVENTS track. It’s the same as I have in all my other songs (obviously adjusted to fit this song), and I’ve never had this problem before.

Can you try to compile using this Magma project but different audio and then different MIDI? And then opening a working Magma project and trying to compile with a different audio and then different MIDI?

Well, that screenshot shows you have no practice sessions created. That is a basic component of the EVENTS track.

Like I said, it’s the same as my other songs and they work fine. So I don’t think that’s the problem?

All right, here’s what I got.

This magma project + different audio and midi: Compiled fine

Other magma project + this songs’s audio and midi: Same issue

Either audio or MIDI breaks it or is it one of the 2?

Either audio or MIDI breaks it or is it one of the 2?

I fixed it, it was an audio thing.

I was looking around in the magma stuff and I saw that there is another dryvox file called “stereo44_24_dryvox.wav”.

I tried using that and it worked.

I wonder why the other didn’t work when it did on previous songs?

Anyways, problem is fixed, and I’ll be uploading the song in a few minutes.

Thanks both of you for helping. <img decoding=” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />

Well is your backing audio 16 bit or 24 bit?

24, but my audio for all songs is 24-bit and never had this problem.

That sounds really weird, because Magma is very particular about bits and sample rates.

Hi, I’m currently having the same problem. But I don’t find the “stereo44_24_dryvox” file in the audio folder. Could you please share it with me?

You don’t need that file. You should be creating your own dryvox file and using that. You aren’t looking for something provided. In fact, no audio file is provided in order for magma to compile. They should all be audio files you create. The main song track, the silent track, and the dryvox track. If it’s crapping out on you, ensure you have all those files and START OVER. Magma is super finicky with file locations and needs it to be clean.
