February 28, 2014 at 12:04 pm #414839Top 10? How about top 100?
February 28, 2014 at 4:44 pm #414852I’ll do ten and limit myself to one per artist. Excluding live albums (or Flight 666 would make it). Looking at albums only where I like most of the tracks (and not just a handful of strong singles). Also stuff I still listen to (not just nostalgia goggles or ‘this album was huge for me back in 19xx’).
Adele – 21
Boston – Boston
Martin Solveig – Hedonist
Mindless Self Indulgence – Frankenstein Girls Will Seem Strangely Sexy
The New Pornographers – Together
Nirvana – Nevermind
No Doubt – Tragic Kingdom
Queen – Queen II
Rodrigo y Gabriela – 11:11
Sufjan Stevens – Illinois
Lots of edgecases and I’m sure if you ask me next week the list will have a few pieces that change.
February 28, 2014 at 6:45 pm #414861Soilwork – Natural Born Chaos
Not too many I’ve met that have even heard of Soilwork, but that album is in my top ten as well!

Alice in Chains – Dirt
Slayer – South of Heaven
Tool – Aenimia
Fear Factory – Digimortal

This was a hard list as there are so many good albums it’s hard to choose just ten!

Not too many I’ve met that have even heard of Soilwork, but that album is in my top ten as well!
Yeah Soilwork is the band that got me into more extreme music. I owe at least half of my music collection to them.

March 10, 2014 at 10:50 pm #415374Damn right you’re not. I’d still list Live as my favorite band, though I don’t listen to them much anymore. I always had a struggle to decide whether Secret Samadhi or Throwing Copper was my favorite album. I listed TC mostly because its so well known. Still love them both.
I was actually thinking of doing “White, Discussion” as a custom but to this day i have no damned clue how Chad Gracey plays that song on drums. It’s just a blur of flying limbs…
