Nothing at all. Harmonix just put it in for a little gag
August 21, 2017 at 5:56 pm #489700Are you sure you have the right common-key and ng-id values? That’s usually the next likely thing it could be.
They are 8 and 16 bytes respectively
August 22, 2017 at 1:28 am #489709I have finally been able to play customs successfully, simply by swapping SD cards. However, when I run packdlc.bat, it only creates app files for some songs. Others still have bins though

Which content gen are you using? Make sure your numberings are actually valid.

Post a screenshot. I think your numbering may be incorrect.
August 28, 2017 at 2:02 am #489937I have tried everything and traced over my steps multiple times but I just cant get this to work. anyone have any suggestions? i keep getting the error “the add on content cannot be restored to the system memory”. The game shows that it is loading the 2 songs I added ( sample song and 1 real song) but gives the error every time. Ive tried deleting the Mstore file too and it still gives the same error.

did you install the given wad? did you change the song DTA file from sZAE to sZFE?

I installed the wrong wad. I think that might be the problem Ill try the new wad soon. Thanks!
Update: the only download I see on this page is for sZGP. Should i be using this and still changing the song DTA from sZAE to sZFE? i was previously using the sZFE wad that I installed and was changing the DTA to sZFE.

are you on PAL or NTSC? If on a PAL version wii then change sZAE to sZGP. If on NTSC version wii then change the sZAE to sZFE.

I am on NTSC. I’m using the common key ebe42a225e8593e448d9c5457381aaf7 that i found online and im using the ng id that i got from my nand backup. is this correct? I cant figure out what im doing wrong
Edit: im using a physical disc to play the game if that makes a difference

How big is the common key? 16 or 32? I don’t think using a physical disc makes a difference. Stack knows more, ask him for advice.

The key im using is ebe42a225e8593e448d9c5457381aaf7 so i think 32. I just tried to use only the demo song that comes with DLC packer and even that gave me the error “the add on content cannot be restored to the system memory” and then the song doesnt show up in the list. I also tried starting over from the begining of the tutorial. in the troubleshooting section it says, “If you’re getting a “Content cannot be restored” error, this usually occurs because either the _song folder may be missing, or the _meta folder is not structured properly.” But i know this cannot be the case, since im using the sample song that came with the DLC packer.
