February 17, 2015 at 7:24 pm #438632My damn Norton Antivirus was quarantining etools.exe, therefore not effectively merging the files.
WARNING
Norton Antivirus is a piece of crap software that insists on relying on reputation values for programs to determine if they are high risk (potential malware/virus) and removes them. It might tell you that about C3 CON Tools. You decide whether I’m trying to give you a virus or not. You can have Norton ignore that one file or just change AV to something less shitty ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />
Disclaimer: I also use Norton Antivirus because it comes free with my internet subscription. But it sucks.
February 17, 2015 at 7:30 pm #438633I use the PAL Version and there is a way easier method to dump the Klicensee encryption keys. Simply use the MYSIS POC Plugin. Here is a little Howto Install and Start Video. Then simply start the Game and play a dlc song, press the playstation logo and when you see the xmb menu, press R1. The Klicensee encryption key appears in a little notification Video.
Then navigate to /dev_hdd0/game/PRXLOADER/USRDIR/ with a ftp app and download the PS3_PPU_Project1.log. You find your Klicensee encryption key stored in this file.
Nice little guide for dumping the encryption keys but I don’t think you will need those for converting your CON songs, cause you just need this one we use with the C3 tools. And the encryption progress will be done automatically for you. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_wink.gif” />
February 17, 2015 at 8:26 pm #438642Also, if you ever plan on using cPlayer to play your PS3 customs through, you’ll want to have used the keys provided with C3 CON Tools, as that’s the only one that cPlayer will decrypt and be able to play.

correct me if i’m wrong, but i thought the keys from the c3 tools only work with the ntsc version and i use the pal version. I edited the klic.txt file with my key and now everything works fine.

That’s hilarious. I paid for a 2 or 3 year plan, so I’m still stuck with it for a year…counting the days.

You might be right. I use the NTSC game on a PAL PS3 and I don’t have to change anything on the klic.txt file.
@ TrojanNemo:
If kim666 grabbed the PAL key and added it successfully to the klic.txt it could be an idea to add a PAL/NTSC button on the next release of the C3 tools. If the user would choose PAL the program could use the PAL key from a different klic.txt file to encrypt the files. I know, there is a different folder the PS3 uses for the RB game but probably kim666 can tell us what we need to know…
February 18, 2015 at 7:31 pm #438716Sure, i can share the rap and klic.txt file. I use the “Rock Band 2 – 20 Bonus Tracks” pack.
The folder is /dev_hdd0/game/BLES00228/USRDIR/CCF0111/
February 19, 2015 at 8:56 pm #438823I’m a little burnt out at the moment, so I’ll ask you to clarify:
With the files provided by kim666, I can add a switch in PS3 Converter to go from the current files (NTSC) to PAL and vice versa, if that will work with no other changes to the process.
That way a PAL user can just load up PS3 Converter, switch to PAL mode, and forget about it. Also, then I can add support for PAL playback in cPlayer if every PAL user will use these files.
Just make it very clear for me what changes I need to make. I’ve been so deep into cPlayer this week that I’m too gone to think critically about PS3 Converter. But since I am updating CON Tools to fix the Visualizer playback, might as well do this.
And PM me any files I need to make this work.
Maybe then I can finally take my damn break.
February 20, 2015 at 7:57 am #438867Yeah, thanks for your support!
I’ll check up details with kim666 and provide you with the needed data via pm.
You’ll get a pm for sharing all the needed details with me…
February 21, 2015 at 5:16 am #438985Well I went ahead and did the changes on my end.
I need:
PAL Content ID
PAL KLIC Key
PAL .rap file (?)
You’ll be able to choose NTSC or PAL, and it’ll save across uses. When using Type 1, I also have it telling edattool which .rap file to use. But I’m a bit confused as to rebuilder…I don’t see an option to specify which .rap file to use? Anyone more familiar with the program?
Get me the above so I can finalize this ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />
February 21, 2015 at 6:12 pm #439015Hi !
I just recently jumped on board… so this my 1st post.
I’m a PAL-User and here’s what i’ve done and what i’ve found out. Take it as a small tutorial on how to get things working.
Converting Cons to PAL:
1. Download and extract PAL_C3_PS3-SongConverterFiles … and have a look inside
2. Copy ‘klic.txt’ -> ‘bin’ (overwrite existing ‘klic.txt’)
3. Download the PKG-file -> rename it to ‘EP0006-BLES00986_00-RBHMXBANDCCFF0D6.pkg’ -> install it on PS3
4. Rename ‘ps3.rap’ to ‘EP0006-BLES00986_00-RBHMXBANDCCFF0D6.rap’ and install it via ‘PSN Patch’
5. Copy ‘dev_hdd0/game/BLES00986/USRDIR/HMX0756/songs.dta‘ to ‘ps3MergedSongs’
Now you’re ready to convert songs to PAL… for the rest follow the guide in post #1
Here’s one interesting thing i’ve found out:
The converted songs(Type 1) are RAP-free !!!… This means they need no rif-file(=installed rap) in order to work.
So the converter should not need the rap-file as well…. or u can just use the NTSC-rap-file because it doesn’t matter. Furthermore this could mean that step 2a) is may be not needed (!! BUT STEP 4 IS NEEDED !!).
I have to try this and let you know the results.
Regards
Rudi
February 21, 2015 at 10:26 pm #439035I’m a bit confused.
Here’s the existing info we use:
//NTSC ContentID:
UP8802-BLUS30463_00-RBHMXBANDCCFF0D6
//NTSC KLIC License Key
0B72B62DABA8CAFDA3352FF979C6D5C2
And from your file:
//PAL ContentID:
EP0006-BLES00986_00-RBHMXBANDCCFF0D6
//PAL KLIC License Key
0B72B62DABA8CAFDA3352FF979C6D5C2
Seems like the KLIC key is the same exact sequence.
Also, still need an answer as to how to specify which rap file rebuilder uses.
February 21, 2015 at 11:03 pm #439036Yes… that’s true ! Klic is same for NTSC and PAL.
I captured the PAL-Klic for the EP0006-BLES00986_00-RBHMXBANDCCFF0D6-package today… and believe me or not: It really is the same !
Furthermore i’ve deleted the ‘ps3.rap’-file and tried to convert a con… and… IT WORKS ! And that’s because the songs are created as free licensee(=rap-free).
Only the 9 original songs need the RIF-file for to work. All converted cons doesn’t need them. Sounds to simple to be true… but in fact it is.
February 21, 2015 at 11:04 pm #439037Let’s hope a NTSC user can confirm this then ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />
February 21, 2015 at 11:13 pm #439040I’ve changed the mini-tutorial in my 1st post a bit. Why not just try it ?
All you need is the C3-Tool, my download, and a con.
