cool I will do that.. con tools merged the songs, and created the folders of those songs in “Merged songs” but they didn’t appear on the list. For example the folder HMX0756 with my customs.
February 11, 2015 at 5:10 am #438154On the latest OFW on a Super Slim PS3 with an ODE, can I play customs? If so, what is the best guide for doing so?Bringing this back. I’d really rather not go through the hassle of getting an old PS3 modded for CFW. An ODE just sounds so much simpler.

you could (both) at least try searching the thread before a) asking something already answered and giving an incorrect answer:

Well, I have a PAL PS3 as well, but I thought getting a NTSC version of the game and using a US PSN account was way easier ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_cheeky.001.gif” />So I got a Cobra ODE yesterday, installed it, and I got the custom songs working using Multiman (for the FTP transfer) (PS3 FAT 4.55 OFW).

there’s other posts that follow talking about the pros+cons, but it seems 100% possible to use OFW+ODE to play customs.
February 11, 2015 at 3:12 pm #438171Boy am I glad I switched to Xbox when I did. I would have given up on customs otherwise.
February 12, 2015 at 11:58 am #438203Yes, Xbox was so much easier to work with on all grounds, and ps3 is so much more complex. Newer slim models of ps3 got improved protection with no possibility to downgrade, so you are lucky if you have and old fat ps3 like me, then those new slim models. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />
To install cobra ODE here, you have to pay almost like half of the price of new PS3. so it’s better to buy some used fat model on ebay or something like that. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />
February 15, 2015 at 12:22 am #438403I’m hoping this is posted in the right spot, so let’s try this again….
I’m having an issue that I can’t figure out. I have merged “Let it Go”, and FTP’ed it over to my ps3. When I go to my library, it doesn’t show up at all, eventhough I have checked that it is in the “songs.dta”.
I also have “Metallica – Turn The Page”, It’s shows up/previews, but I get the “Song Skipping” message and it sends me back.
Finally, I noticed that at the top of my library it says “Viewing 755 of 1,088 Songs”. I cannot view all of the songs, and I’m wondering what I may have done to make this happen.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
February 15, 2015 at 12:36 am #438404I’m guessing the reason you are only viewing 755 songs is because you have one of the filters turned on, I’d check that first (select button).
This might also explain why “Let It Go” doesn’t show up…
February 15, 2015 at 3:04 pm #438435I already checked the filters, but I double-checked to make sure. Unfortunately, that wasn’t the problem. Still working on fixing the not being able to view all songs issue. I think I figured out the Metallica issue, the file made it to the songs folder, but it never merged with the songs.dta file. I haven’t tested it yet, but I’m confident that is the fix.
Anymore suggestions on viewing all of my songs? I noticed I also cannot see any of the Misfits songs either.

That sounds strange cause it looks like your PS3 is detecting 1,088 songs, but doesn’t know what to do with a part of it.
Is there any custom song you can see and play among the 755 songs or is this all HMX content?
February 16, 2015 at 11:17 pm #438542Update:
So I went through my whole list of songs individually, and fixed almost all of my issues. The main issue being that some “songs.dta” files were missing, and I had duplicates that I think were confusing the game.
I still cannot see 10 of my songs including the custom “Misfits” songs, and Metallica “Turn the Page” custom with vocals.
I am getting a “cannot play, song skipping” for both Selena Gomez songs “Naturally” and “Love You Like a Love Song”, and Also, Toadies “Possum Kingdom”.
I don’t understand why those songs won’t show. They are all customs, but not from the C3 Database. Do a select few songs need an additional step? I just don’t know.

No, there is no song that needs to have an additional step. In some cases you need to deal with the EDAT file but these are only a few cases.
Probably it’s a good way to start cleaning up your songs.dta by adding one or two custom songs from the C3 database.
You should download the PS3 version and just copy paste the songs.dta content to your existing songs.dta.
After you did that try both songs. If they work you know the rest of your songs.dta seems to be screwed up for some reasons.
February 17, 2015 at 5:58 pm #438604Finally tried this tutorial and everything worked like a charm. Big thanks for this great tutorial!
I think now i will move from Wii to PS3, there is an easy way to convert a wii midi pro adapter to ps3 (or vice versa) with some little soldering skills.
I use the PAL Version and there is a way easier method to dump the Klicensee encryption keys. Simply use the MYSIS POC Plugin. Here is a little Howto Install and Start Video. Then simply start the Game and play a dlc song, press the playstation logo and when you see the xmb menu, press R1. The Klicensee encryption key appears in a little notification Video.
Then navigate to /dev_hdd0/game/PRXLOADER/USRDIR/ with a ftp app and download the PS3_PPU_Project1.log. You find your Klicensee encryption key stored in this file.
February 17, 2015 at 7:09 pm #438626I will need to go song for song, but I think it’s finally figured out.
My damn Norton Antivirus was quarantining etools.exe, therefore not effectively merging the files. I went through and re-merged the ones that I knew had issues, and I was able to play them. thank you all for your ideas. If you wouldn’t have mentioned cleaning up my songs.dta file, I would’ve never noticed it.
You guys are all awesome!!!

Sounds good, so you might be able to build up your song library now. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />
