October 8, 2014 at 6:55 am #430654Mine doesn’t work anymore so I’m thinking of getting a Xbox instead.
On the other hand you have to think about buying all new instruments for the 360 and it has to be an XBOX with NTSC standard, cause that’s how the customs work “out of the box”. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_emot-3.gif” />
October 8, 2014 at 7:40 am #430655Wait, is there really a difference between NTSC and PAL Xbox 360 ? There’s no mention of it on this thread. Well I already have a Xbox-compatible guitar and I’ll probably get a Xbox 360 MIDI adapter for my e-drums, so that won’t cost a lot. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_wink.gif” />
October 8, 2014 at 8:22 am #430659To be honest, I cannot tell you if the customs work on PAL or not, cause I don’t have any experience in RockBand on 360.
It’s just a hint to avoid paying money for something you probably couldn’t use. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_wink.gif” />
October 11, 2014 at 2:46 pm #430927I have a question!
Everywhere around the forums it’s clear that to play custom on the 360 you need to be on TU#4. Is this requirement true also for the PS3? TU#5 would be nice, if only to have Dani California and Black Hole Sun.
I’m up and running on my PS3, but I’m still on vanilla RB3 (how do you check which version si running anyways?). Most customs I’ve tried work, but I suspect the odd ones out that skips (maybe 2~3 in 300 so far) might be because I’m not running an updated version. Well really I don’t know, but I’d like to check.
So, PS3 users, did you update? If so, to which version? And how?
October 12, 2014 at 5:42 pm #430963Actually,TU#4 and TU#5 only apply to Xbox. With PS3, it has to be jailbroken with custom firmware (but if you are running customs, you must have done that already). Some of the posts at the beginning of this thread talk about how to spoof your system so that you can log back into PSN and download official DLC on a CFW system, but you do risk being detected and having either your console or your account banned.
As for the songs not loading, every once in a great while, something in the encryption/transfer process will hiccup. In those rare instances, I recommend redownloading the file from the C3 database and trying the process again from scratch. You should first delete the song from your Songs.dta file and I would also recommend deleting the subdirectory for that song from the PS3 (via whatever FTP program you are using).

I bought a Xbox 360 and I can confirm there’s no restriction regarding PAL consoles and the customs work out of the box. Turns out the PAL encryption problem is a PS3 thing ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_cheeky.001.gif” />

October 12, 2014 at 8:15 pm #430985Thanks for the answer. I’ll try to update RB3 and I’ll let you know if it works.

Good to know, thanks for your feedback! ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />
October 13, 2014 at 11:53 am #431013I wanted to officially announce that given TDCMark’s prolonged absence, C3 has a new dedicated person doing the official C3 conversions: hamburgerjung!
Many thanks to him for donating his time to help C3 and other PS3 players. Thanks!
October 13, 2014 at 12:49 pm #431015Thanks for your warm words! ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />
TDCMark did a great job, cause he and Nemo made it possible for us PS3 players to be a part of this nice C3 community. So thanks again to TDCMark for that!
I hope we can achieve for PS3 area the same advantages as we can see in 360 or Wii section.
Most of all I’m aiming at the harmonies project I really would like to introduce to PS3 songs as well.
With the help of our community I could imagine to make it happen – I hope you are with me! ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />

I’ve downloaded the update, and it everything works as expected. I’ve got all my official DLC, I can hide the one-lighters, I’ve got Dani California and Black Hole Sun. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_biggrin.gif” />

But I still get that “Unable to load song, skipping…” message.
Just so you know, the broken songs that I’ve noticed are:
Weird Al’s – Hardware Store,
Daft Punk – One More Time,
King Crimson – Epitaph (1x version, didn’t try the 2x version),
Led Zep – Kashmir, Stairway to Heaven
Is anybody else on PS3 able to play these? Should I file a bug request?
I did download a bunch of songs that I haven’t played yet, so there may be more. But I must say so far, the vast majority works like a charm.

There are no songs left with the skipping song issue on my PS3. I haven’t tried all songs you listed but I can confirm “One More Time”, “Kashmir” and “Stairway to Heaven” works on my PS3.
Have you tried using the type 2 with 10 sec when you convert con files to PS3 on those songs?
If so, try to download the already converted PS3 files from the database. They should work.
If you still cannot play the songs please contact us again.

Thanks a lot, it worked! Now I’ll know what to try next time a song skips.
I will point out however that I had tried first with the PS3 versions in the DB… So maybe these versions needs to be update with that 10 seconds technique.

So you are telling me the converted PS3 songs in the C3 database are not working?

Well, yeah. I usually just download the PS3 versions, with no problems. But for the five I mentioned earlier, it didn’t work.
