Why does the Rock Band 4 guitars have the knob for changing pedals when it doesnt affect the audio?

 

 

Also why dont customs work with said pedals

Not sure what you are talking about. I am holding my Strat and there is NO place to attach a pedal.

No the little knob on the side which simulates pedals by altering the sound of the song (next to the start button)

I was holding the wrong guitar! LOL

My RB3 guitar has an 1/8″ jack on the side which I’m told works for the pedal overdrive function, but I do not see what you are referring to.

Got a pic?

I can confirm the pedal DOES work for overdrive when plugged in to the 1/8″ jack. Never tried it before so thanks for making me look at this )

I believe Chef is referring to the effects slider switch. This does work in RB4 but only on guitar (it worked on bass in previous games but not RB4 for some reason).

 

It’ll only activate the effects either during overdrive or a non-freestlye guitar solo.

And it only works on customs that have multitracks, otherwise there is a blank audio track that won’t affect the sound.
