Hey guys so I recently run into a problem, every time I try to boot-up the game when it reaches the last song that the game finds the game all of a sudden freezes it’s been happening to me a lot lately and I don’t know how to solve this is there anyone that has had similar issues that can help me out? Thanks
August 6, 2017 at 5:25 pm #488989There is a problematic DTA entry most likely. If you’re on xbox it’s as simple as removing the problematic CON file, if PS3 or wii depending on your setup it differs; but you need to delete the bad DTA entry.

Is there a way to find the bad file? I’m using Xbox I use rbtousb for file transferring
August 6, 2017 at 7:39 pm #488996It could take some time to find the bad CON file. You can try adding say 20 songs to your library at a time until the game crashes. Once the game crashes you know that one of the last 20 songs you added is bad. You can use C3 Con Tools visualizer to take a look at those 20 songs and if a DTA error spits out then most likely you found your culprit bad CON.

This started recently within the last 5 months. would it be safe to say that i just need to go back a few months to find the file or could it stem from something from a long time ago? also what is it supposed to say on my screen when i find the culprit DTA error file? should it just automatically say something upon loading?

Visualizer will pop up a DTA error screen if the custom is not made properly. First off you should delete the song cache file on your xbox360 dashboard storage device. Load RB3, let it create a new song cache file and see if the game still crashes. If it does then you will have to try to narrow down the bad file by loading group of songs to your library at once. If you think its a song from the last few months then only load those newer songs to the library. Maybe 10 or 5 songs at a time. Once the game crashes, inspect those last 10 to 5 songs you added.

Thank you i deleted my cache and it worked. As a side note I also have close to 3000 songs I deleted about 30 songs to drop the number. Do You think that had something to do with it? I’ve been playing customs for the last 3 years with no crash issues and within the last 5 months it has happened 3 times. I also have RBHP but I erased it because I thought that had something to do with it. But thank you for your help!

RB3 can only install 2952 songs in the library before spitting out a warning screen saying that you have reached the limit. It shouldn’t have crashed your console by having 3000 songs on your hard drive. It just won’t install the last 48 songs due to the hard limit.
July 25, 2018 at 8:29 pm #499882One question, can I add more than 20 songs?
