      v2.2.2
      - Added Karaoke Mode! See Help for more information if it's not ridiculously easy to use
      - Added ability to sort playlist by date modified (i.e. show the newest released/modified songs on top)
      - Now displays toms and cymbals differently, rather than showing everything as toms with tom markers on top
      - Improved detection of disco flip use
      - Fixed bug where adding songs to the playlist while having an active search term would cause data loss in the playlist
      - Few other minor bug fixes and improvements

      #451814

Keys don’t show up for a few songs that should have them, like Because and Here Comes The Sun. It just shows an extra, empty track on the bottom. I’ve only noticed it on Beatles songs, for some reason.

That sounds like “you don’t read the thread, and you’re using an old version of the tools without first updating to see if your issue was resolved.” It’s a common bug it seems. :v:

        v2.2.1
        - Fixed bug that would draw an empty space for Pro Keys (but not display anything) when a song had Rhythm on Keys and fake Pro Keys 'charted'

Both songs display perfectly fine on my end using v2.2.2. <img decoding=” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />

These aren’t songs with fake Pro Keys, though. Even with v2.2.2, they don’t display anything. I can get 5-lane keys to work, but if it’s set to Pro Keys the lane won’t even show up.

Well, remove the problem songs from the playlist and add them again. Also make sure that the files that cPlayer is using do in fact have the charts you think they do. If you have multiple copies of a song cPlayer only adds one to the playlist, so it’s up to you to make sure you’ve added the correct file. Lastly, make sure your MIDI display settings are correct.

If after you’ve done all of that cPlayer is not behaving as it should, upload your files so I can check them out.

The remove/add seems to have done it. Thanks!

When i try play a song i get.

          Error initializing BASS.NET

          BASS_ERROR_DEVICE

          Edit

Sorry, did not have my headset plugged in <img decoding=” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_biggrin.gif” />

            v2.3.0
            - Improved method of displaying MIDI visuals/karaoke mode/audio spectrums so there should be no more flickering
            - The poorly implemented 'crossfading' option is now replaced with the option to skip silent (or very low volume) intros and outros
            - Removed quite a bit of unnecessary fluff 'features' that were not being used in an effort to streamline the code
            - Improved and tweaked a few things

I like this release. I spent a while tweaking tiny things, making it all feel a bit more polished. Along the way, lots of crap was thrown out – for the better. Enjoy.

So in the last few days, cPlayer started crashing on start-up. Any advice?

cPlayer crashed! Please see the error log below:
            Code:
cPlayer version 2.3.0 Error Message: Class not registered (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80040154 (REGDB_E_CLASSNOTREG)) Stack Trace: at System.Windows.Forms.UnsafeNativeMethods.CoCreateInstance(Guid& clsid, Object punkOuter, Int32 context, Guid& iid) at System.Windows.Forms.AxHost.CreateWithLicense(String license, Guid clsid) at System.Windows.Forms.AxHost.CreateInstanceCore(Guid clsid) at System.Windows.Forms.AxHost.CreateInstance() at System.Windows.Forms.AxHost.GetOcxCreate() at System.Windows.Forms.AxHost.TransitionUpTo(Int32 state) at System.Windows.Forms.AxHost.CreateHandle() at System.Windows.Forms.Control.CreateControl(Boolean fIgnoreVisible) at System.Windows.Forms.Control.CreateControl(Boolean fIgnoreVisible) at System.Windows.Forms.AxHost.EndInit() at bh.a5() at bh..ctor() at bj.a()

Well, what’s changed? Was it working before on this version, you changed OS and now it doesn’t work? Or are you on the same OS you were before, it was working on a prior version, you updated and now have this problem? Or did you not change versions or OS and it just stopped working? The error is telling me one of the Windows components it’s expecting can’t be found…so how did that change on your end?

If you’re using it in Phase Shift mode, change the mode to another console. Close and re-start the program. Does it still give you the error then? Or only when in Phase Shift mode? Do you get the error if you load the program without autoloading the playlist?

Are both AxInterop.WMPLib.dll and Interop.WMPLib.dll in the program’s bin folder? All other files that come in the RAR still there? Make sure!

              #453587

As far as I can tell, it just stopped working. The first time it happened was on an earlier version, so I upgraded to v2.3, but it still crashes. No OS updates, no mode changes that I can think of… and I extracted everything from the .RAR as usual. Both of those files are there. It couldn’t be, like, a Windows Update thing, could it?

I doubt it. Something is missing from Windows that shouldn’t be. There are some questions I asked that didn’t get answered. Try all my suggestions and respond to them so I can narrow it down.

Been holding on to this for a little bit, time to push it out.

                  v2.4.0
                  - Now detects intro/outro silence for Phase Shift songs in advance like it does for the consoles (i.e. less waiting for the song to start)
                  - Added tool to rebuild the metadata for the songs in your playlist (this is helpful if you add instruments or if you modify the attenuation levels or any other metadata to a song already in your playlist) - click on Playlist -> Rebuild playlist metadata
                  - Karaoke Mode will now scale better in resolutions higher than 1080p (i.e. larger words, easier to read in a 4K TV)
                  - Improved video playback for Phase Shift songs
                  - Improved extracting and reading of DTA and MOGG files for increased speed and reduced hard drive usage - thanks to Maxton for the suggestion and code sample
                  - Fixed broken playback of encrypted PS3 audio files
                  - Fixed bug where sometimes audio would switch to the next song when changing the audio tracks to play
                  - Fixed bug where last playlist path would be lost in very specific scenarios
                  - Many other minor bug fixes and several minor visual tweaks

And here’s a thing. If no big bugs are found, I want to think I’m done with this until at least next year. With one exception. I want to add stage kit support…and I need your help.

See, I know how to read the song files. I know how to operate the stage kit. But what’s missing is very important. How do I combine these two? Do you know how HMX uses the venue track to operate the stage kit? I don’t mean “it reads it and it uses it to guide the stage kit” – I know that. I mean, when do they decide to turn on red led 3? When do they decide to turn on the strobe or fog?

So, can one of you very smart and creative people help me out with this? I need a write up of a way to make this happen. No code, just what in the chart should do what on the stage kit.

If one of you wonderful peeps does this, I will add it to cPlayer.

Then you’ll have a music player than can handle thousands of customs at once, that can do karaoke in 4K resolution AND will liven up your party with stage kit goodness. This could easily be the next reason for your house party alone :v:

So, who’s up to the challenge?

With the change in the forum software the old links broke, so clicking on the C3 Forums link in the program won’t bring you here. If that bothers you, re-download the program – I’ve corrected that.

Nothing else was changed, so no version change and I won’t issue an update.
