November 10, 2013 at 2:45 pm #409097Thought I’d give off some venue making advice from a guy who got his start on venue making (I like bragging). I saw a guy playing “I Remember You” and the venue had those directed cuts that seemed to last longer than I’m sure you intended, primarily the fret board close-ups. What you want is a cut between the directed cut and the cut where you want the shot to end, something we call a “dummy cut”. Managing them can be tough with songs with five instruments. Experiment with it in your next custom.
Thank you for the tip. Venues are something I need to play around with more. I use stage kits, so I’d like to make the most of the lighting cues as well as having tight directed cuts.
November 14, 2013 at 1:08 pm #409231SKID ROW – I REMEMBER YOUI’ve been wanting this song in Rock Band since the game first came out. I got hopeful when the 18 and Life custom came out, but decided to do it myself after losing hope that farotone would do more Skid Row. Here’s hoping someone else follows suit and does the other required song from the self-titled debut, Youth Gone Wild (hell, I’d probably chip in vocals on it if someone were to do the rest).
Wanted this song very bad as well, asked Farrotone when he released 18 and Life if he had more Skid Row in the pipeline, he said he didn’t have any plans for more, I’ve tried my hand at charting, this song in fact but I can never get anything to show up in Magma and ADHD doesn’t allow me to DERP around with it anymore for severe lack of concentration and a heap of aggravation and various broken things to which I must apologize!
November 19, 2013 at 4:46 pm #409416Clint! We played RnR last Friday and Nyx has some drum KICKS feedback for you. Also, this song should have a BRE!
November 19, 2013 at 5:55 pm #409424Well I am working on Youth Gone Wild if that means anything to anyone.. but I’m also working on other things, and I have a big gig coming up (well big to me).. so I’ll try and work on it as much as possible but it won’t be finished soon… unless someone else is already doing it that I don’t know about

Also, this song should have a BRE!Nyx mentioned something about that to me the last time I played with you guys. Any help and/or suggestions is encouraged and appreciated. Especially drum charting help, because I am very poor at it.

The last time I played with my group we did I Remember You. It was awesome, but we all commented how sweet it would be the shout out the vocal harmonies in Youth Gone Wild. If you’re interested, shoot me over the RPP & audio and I’ll get going on the vocals right away.
November 20, 2013 at 11:33 pm #409486HUFF ‘N DOBACK – BOATS ‘N HOES
I’m not sure who to credit for the very old barebones version of this custom, but if you are out there, thanks for getting it started. I’ve upgraded this once before, only adding harmonies, but this time I went ahead and added bass, keys (my first time ever doing anything on keys), all difficulties, animations, overdrive, etc. I think I’ve taken it as far as I want to so I can move it out of my “incomplete projects” folder.
This is a very funny song. Next to America, Fuck Yeah!, this might be my favorite comedic movie song ever. It’s truly a blast to sing it with your friends whilst inebriated. I had to trim pretty much all of the ending and beginning vocal phrases/notes in order for it to be possible to activate overdrive. It’s not ideal, but it’s the best I could come up with. Drums, bass & keys are all pretty dull, but they’re there so you’re bandmates who don’t like rapping about their “eight inch members” have something to do.
November 21, 2013 at 1:36 am #409489Thanks for the update on Boats and Hoes. I absolutely hate this song on drums but its meant for party atmosphere and vocals is where its at. Step Brothers is one of my favorite comedies.
Update: After playing this new revision the drums are improved so much.
November 23, 2013 at 12:01 am #409572IRON MAIDEN – MOTHER RUSSIA
This has been sitting around on my hard drive for a while. It’s from an old midi file at Scorehero authored by Aliengunner52. I pretty much upgraded everything and added everything that was missing. The only thing I didn’t do was fix the wonky tempo map. I tried to keep everything in sync the best I could without starting a new tempo map, but you can tell it’s still not right. I can make a map from scratch pretty well, but I need an advanced tempo map course to teach me how to edit them without messing everything up.
Anyway, this is one of the few good songs from the No Prayer For the Dying album. It has an awesome guitar solo section and the drums and bass are pretty fun. And despite the sync issues with the instruments, I can say the vocals are now pretty spot on, not that the song has alot of them.
I only have one more old song sitting in my incomplete folder and when I put some finishing touches on that I will go to work on one of my favorite epic songs from the early 70’s, which should be something that has never been seen in a rhythm game (official or custom).
November 23, 2013 at 8:32 pm #409600Wow thanks for Mother Russia, No Prayer for the Dying is one of my top 3 favorite Maiden albums.

December 11, 2013 at 3:26 pm #410493Ooo nice, did you fix up the charts too by any chance? (I remember the Guitar chart being extremely wrong and charting straight muted chords as trills and stuff)
