I know its not even Halloween but I figured if any of our beloved authors have plans for making Christmas songs this year it might be a good idea to make a thread to remind people what still isn’t been in made yet sooner rather than later.

HMX never made many Christmas songs as I would imagine they wanted to make song that sell all year round, not just a couple of months, over the years we have turned to the great releases from C3 and the the authors on the forums to provide the soundtrack to our Christmas Rock Band Parties!

Try to stay popular and mainstream as remember Christmas songs are a perfect for a party in the winter months. I will edit this post with any suggestions (I have used Now That’s What I Call Christmas album as my starting point for this list).

    In no particular order:

    9) Frankie Goes To Hollywood – The Power of Love

    10) The Darkness – Christmas Time (Don’t Let The Bells End)

    11) Jona Lewie – Stop The Cavalry

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2HkJHApgKqw

    12) Jon Bon Jovi – Please Come Home For Christmas

I must admit rock/metal covers are really cool, Nightwish – Walking In The Air, totally amazed me and took me by surprise when made a few years back by Nightmare Lyra.

ELP/Greg Lake – I Believe In Father Christmas

Edit: I did a quick search and saw you made a similar thread to this a little under two years ago.

Did I? Time goes so fast, oh well rather than necro bumping and updating the released stuff, just did this. Sorry about that….

But I 100% agree with your suggestion!!!!

The song I’m wanting to have done for Christmas would be Christmas (Baby Please Come Home) by Darlene Love.

Anything from the Twisted Sister Christmas album would be nice.

Okay, I’m here with my usual pretentious, obscure, awesome picks. First I have to push hard for The Killers. They release a typically awesome original Christmas song annually, and many would be fitting for Rock Band. Here’s a list of them chronologically. The videos are always treats, too!

A Great Big Sled (feat. Toni Halliday) (2006)

Don’t Shoot Me Santa (feat. Ryan Pardey) (2007)

Joseph, Better You Than Me (feat. Elton John & Neil Tennant) (2008)

¡Happy Birthday Guadalupe! (feat Wild Light & Mariachi El Bronx) (2009)

    Boots (2010)

    The Cowboys Christmas Ball (2011)

I Feel It In My Bones (feat. Ryan Pardey) (2012)

Christmas In L.A. (feat. Dawes) (2013)

Joel the Lump of Coal (feat. Jimmy Kimmel) (2014)

Dirt Sledding (feat Ryan Pardey & Richard Dreyfuss) (2015)

I’ll Be Home For Christmas (feat. Ned Humphrey Hansen) (2016) (not really suitable for Rock Band, but still a sweet tribute)

Beyond those, here are my suggestions…

Harvey Danger – Sometimes You Have to Work on Christmas

One of my favorite bands and my favorite Christmas song beyond the Killers’ selections above.

Roman Candle – It’s Christmas. Go on and Say Hello

Another favorite band with a great Christmas song

    Nerf Herder – Santa’s Got a Mullet

Same as above… but dumb and fun. The entire Hi-Voltage Christmas Rock EP by Nerf Herder is like that, so check it out.

And of course, I have to mention the Vandals Christmas album to which Prez linked a song above… and that’s the best song on it, so I’m happy. But it’s worth a listen if you haven’t heard it.

Finally, I wouldn’t want to play it in-game, but Jackson Browne‘s The Rebel Jesus is a very nice song.

Jonathan Coulton – Chiron Beta Prime

Not my favorite, but unique and fun. A sci-fi Christmas.

That’s not going to happen. This was released during the first generation of RBN songs.

I don’t think anyone would care for it but I’m doing Green Day’s Christmas song, Xmas Time of The Year. I’m trying for a Christmas release date but I may release on Christmas Eve or even the first day of December.
