August 26, 2015 at 8:58 am #453624Keep in mind Friday was traditionally Harmonix’s day to announce upcoming DLC. Assuming they adopt a weekly release schedule for RB4 (that’s a big if at the moment, I know), we won’t have to lose our weekly dose of high-quality songs for RB.
I would not expect a weekly schedule for RB4 DLC.

I wouldn’t expect it either, but who knows?
Maybe if the game sells more than they expect?
Although that’s something that’s really hard to happen, as currently music games are “dead”/not as popular as they used to be back then.
That being said, I have to thank the C3 community.
Even though I only discovered it around February of this year and couldn’t really play that many customs (I only have a modded Wii and an unmodded PS3), I can clearly see a lot of people benefited from the releases and had a lot of fun with them.
August 26, 2015 at 1:28 pm #453635Thanks to everyone that contributed, it has been a blast playing the customs. Extremely excited to see what’s remaining *cough* Rage For Order *cough*
August 26, 2015 at 1:40 pm #453636Friday mornings are going to be just a little bit less exciting.
This. I was late to the Harmonix Friday releases and I was never as excited for them as I am nowadays for the C3 ones.
I always had high hopes back then but there was a lot more disappointment and long periods of an “oh” feeling towards releases. Now almost every week we get at least one song I get genuinely enthusiastic about and more often than not more than one.
Luckily the forums aren’t going anywhere in the forseeable future.
Still I feel some Always Look on the Bright Side of Life is in order. (Not a song request)

August 26, 2015 at 10:16 pm #453649I, for one, welcome back our Harmonix overlords.
Thanks to all who’ve contributed here. I’m new to this site (can’t believe I never knew about this joint until May ’15), and this place has re-ignited the glowing embers of love for Rock Band.
Looking forward to the last two months. Go out swinging!
August 26, 2015 at 10:46 pm #453652You don’t think there will be weekly RB4 DLC, so why stop releasing songs?
August 26, 2015 at 10:53 pm #453654That’s OK, you “getting it” is not required.
August 26, 2015 at 11:50 pm #453658There will be periodic DLC. There just might not be weekly DLC like there used to be.

No, but in all seriousness, that’s not the ‘why’.
August 27, 2015 at 11:55 am #453702I think some of misunderstandings I read about this stems from the fact that people think head to head releases are competitions. It’s not about head to head, it’s about mimicking periodic official releases that we need to stop.

August 27, 2015 at 2:59 pm #453716I’m very interested in what post weekly release C3 will be like.
I’ll miss having something to look forward to on friday mornings, but I think you guys have something cool up your sleeves.

Unless you’re not getting RB4, in which case you’re SOL.

That is correct.
