I totally cheated and created events that just ensured it wasn’t focusing on anyone until the sync kicked in. Lame I know, but just wanted this custom out the door.

 

Yeah, at this point, screw it.

 

Nyxyxylyth sent me a snippet of himself singing that section with the hopes that it would render the lip sync properly, but it still didn’t. In a way, I’m relieved that it isn’t just me… but it still doesn’t answer what the problem is.

 

Is it my Wii?

Is it the custom?

Is it the compilation process?

Etc., etc., etc.

 

But at least Nyx’s clip keeps the mouth open, even if not for the entire duration, because I’m burnt out and don’t feel like figuring out why my newly recorded snippet is just completely broken now. I’ll just cut to a far-out angle and call it a day. I’ve hit the point of diminishing returns.

Ya. I’m guessing if Pavarotti himself sent me a snippet, it wouldn’t work. Something in compilation or some stupid thing I’ve done in the file is preventing the engine from understanding there is something to sing there. But alas, I ain’t with HMX and can’t ask their programmers wuz up? So we make do, n’est pas? I’m sure it’ll be great. Plus, get that custom OUT! Been waiting for someone to do Home in like FOREVER.

Ha! Two of the weakest ones for me to chart? I think that’s a hard pass. Pro keys will never be done by me for sure. I guess more patient waiting is in order. :: sips on some hot tea cupping in hands ::

This could be completely wrong, but I sometimes wonder if the game (in the Wii version, at least) reduces or disables the singer’s lip-sync sometimes depending on the camera distance and angle to save on processing. If this is happening on a close-up shot, it may be something else though.
