Touhou week! This ended up being a bit all over the place in terms of song selection, but I think this should be a quite challenging assortment of tracks for most instruments really. For the uninitiated I would recommend checking out U.N. Owen Was Her and Necrofantasia first since they both have very recognizable melodies that I’m sure many have heard before in some shape or form. (Watch out for the bass chart for Necrofantasia though. It’s… challenging to say the least.)
Also I’ve started to familiarize myself with pro guitar charting a bit more, and since I’ve been starting to play pro guitar a bit more lately myself I’m gonna try to do a few songs for that instrument every now and then. I’m probably mostly going to do it for the more simple and/or repetitive songs though since I’m still a novice so I won’t be able to play any more complex songs anyway.
THANK YOU for My Eyes! It’s one of those things that I didn’t realize would work so well and be so much fun in RB. I love discovering things like this– thank you so much for making it happen!!

You’re walking in the woods. There’s no one around and your phone is dead. Out of the corner of your eye, you spot him – Shia LaBeouf.
I’m currently working on an epically long custom in collaboration with egead, and that project is finally starting the near its completion! In the meantime here’s something I hope will tide you all over: Rob Cantor’s Shia LaBeouf, with pro guitar charted (well, strings alt charted to pro guitar) and full multitracks!

After working on this for a long time and pulling way too many all nighters to get it done, this behemoth is finally finished: X Japan’s 29 minute epic Art of Life, fully charted on all instruments including pro guitar and pro bass.
Sideshow converted a Frets on Fire drum custom by FbS-13 about a year ago into a Rock Band 3 custom, which serves as the base for this custom. FbS-13 did not only chart drums but also tempo mapped the entire thing with great precision, for which I am incredibly grateful. I challenged myself to author the 10 minute avant garde piano solo in the middle of the song because I was curious how it could be represented in Rock Band. Once I had finished charting that, I knew doing the rest of the song as well would be manageable.
Another huge thanks to egead, who made the guitar chart and whose enthusiasm is a big reason this project got finished. For the Phase Shifters, ghostbyob has converted the song for Phase Shift and her version should be available through the J-Rock Band Project very soon.
And hey, this marks a year since I uploaded my first customs to this site! Quite a fitting way to celebrate, I’d say!
Wow amazing job, really look forward to playing this monster song. I’m a fan of X Japan since discovering them through the Manga turn anime X used their songs, so always happy to find a new X Japan custom. Also not sure if you know but currently a documentary called “We are X” is playing on selected theaters in the US, with Yoshiki promoting it.

That’s the most gargantuan effort of anything I’ve ever seen, holy crap.
Art of Life has been my favorite 20+ minute song for years now and I’m really happy to see it here.
(actually, I think it may be tied with A CHange of Seasons by Dream Theater, which is available somewhere else on this site!)
This may be the longest Pro Guitar/Bass song for the game. Excellent job making this epic song full band.

So I know I just released Art of Life, but hey, I was happy to finally be able to work on other stuff. Marble Machine should be recognisable to some from the video with the same name. If you haven’t seen it, do check it out, it’s one of the cooler musical projects I’ve seen for sure.
The other song in this pack, Om Du Möter Varg, is by Detektivbyrån, which was another musical project by Martin Molin, the mastermind behind the machine in the video. I decided to do pro guitar for it even though it’s an accordion that’s charted to guitar in it, and it actually turned out to work surprisingly well to play on guitar. All in all it’s a nice little tune that’s pretty fun on all instruments all around.
