Voice
March 31, 2017 at 12:16 am #483370Personally think 80’s music/rock was better…but this one, I’m 200% behind:
4. Savage Garden – Moon and Back / Affirmation / Truly Madly Deeply (0)
March 31, 2017 at 1:11 pm #483389We luckily have the great Shatner version of “Common People”.
I legitimately loved that album when it came out. I need to listen to it again.

I didn’t discover Has Been until well after the fact, but yes, Shatner acquitted himself quite well. “Ideal Woman” is my favorite track.

I just re-listened to the entire “Has Been” album the other day. Still holds up.
I then listened to parts of “Seeking Major Tom” (which I’d never listened to). What a hot pile of shit.
Clearly, Ben Folds is some kind of genius.

August 3, 2017 at 6:40 pm #488836Another great 90’s band that hasn’t seen the light of day in Rock Band has appeared, Pulp – Common People has been released by beard216, thank you so much!
August 3, 2017 at 6:54 pm #488841To all the people talking about Has Been by William Shatner… I’m so glad you guys know it exists, and my mind exploded when I saw Common People was released here as an official C3 custom. I never expected that! That album is freaking brilliant, and you’re exactly right as to why: Ben Folds. I love Ben Folds, and while I love Shatner and Star Trek, I never expected to enjoy a spoken word album. I’ve contacted the author of Rockin’ the Suburbs with an offer to pitch the vocals, and I’d love to see more Ben Folds Five, speaking of awesome ’90s bands… but no Brick, please. Ugh.
August 4, 2017 at 8:14 pm #488881To be honest

To be honest if it wasn’t for c3 I wouldn’t know Shatner did a cover of it.

I’m guessing you’re not from the UK as it was a massive in the 90’s

Correcto! I grew up with ’90s alternative rock/pop radio in the US! At the time I thought it was awful, but in retrospect, it was fantastic.
