It really doesn’t have to be “detailed.” Just correct. Which is why I prefer to find drums of customs first because generally the tempo maps are lined up perfect. Then it’s just easy charting the guitar/bass after that. Sure, I could take a look at your AGttHoT by Trivium if you’d like. I’m almost finished with fixing up the Expert Guitar on my side, so I’d like to compare it to yours.

 

As of now, the tempo map is just a steady BPM. I chart all of my songs that way. I find the “base BPM” then chart drums and guitar. Then I go back and make the “detailed tempo map” based off of the drums I have charted. I just find it easier to chart the drums then tempo map the song, versus charting the drums as I tempo map or tempo mapping without notes in the drum track.

Sure that’s fine. Typically I don’t care how one goes about Tempo Mapping. I mean, if it’s a constant BPM throughout the song, then that would be your tempo map regardless. Nothing really to fine-tune really.
