Truthfully Chart-a-Thon may be the most exciting time of the year if you are a member of the Rock Band community. If you’re a player, the absolute deluge of new and exciting content come December is enough to keep your band sessions going for months, and if you’re a charter it presents a wonderful opportunity to put your knuckles to the grindstone and show off your best work for a good cause. As for me as a charter, Chart-a-thon simply wouldn’t be complete without the release of one of my massive Variety Track Packs. This year, I’m treating you all to a selection of 30 killer tracks spanning over fifty years of music from powerhouse bands including Black Sabbath, Grateful Dead, King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard, and more.

Up for some party-pleasing harmonies? Get together for CAKE’s “Wheels” and Run-DMC’s “Rock Box.” Want to really sink your teeth into some long form jam sessions? Want something a little moodier? No problem. Checkout the grunge wailer “Congregation” by Witch Fever and the broody classic from Alice in Chains “Frogs.” Give your drummer a work out with “Empire” by Frankie and the Witch Fingers and “Iron Lung” by King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard. Or maybe you’re just looking for some heavy metal sludge. Acid Mammoth and Green Lung have you covered with the Black Sabbath throwbacks “Them!” and “Maxine (Witch Queen).” Or go right to the Sabbath themselves with the proto-thrash riffage of “Megalomania.”
