July 23rd 2016 – “Weird Al” Rock Band Part 1

    “Weird Al” Yankovic – “Tacky”

Fun Fact: While filming the music video for “Tacky” which is one continuous shot throughout, Al had to rush down 5 flights of stairs and change clothes so that when he appears both at the beginning and end of the video his clothes are different. Also, Jack Black twerks in this video. I’d say he pulled it off!

“Weird Al” Yankovic – “Smells Like Nirvana”

Fun Fact: The lyrics “bargle nawdle zouss” came to Al when he woke up in the middle of the night. He wrote it down because he thought those words might be important some day.

“Weird Al” Yankovic – “I Love Rocky Road”

Fun Fact: The ice cream in the music video was actually mashed potatoes because real ice cream would melt under the stage lights.

“Weird Al” Yankovic – “Your Horoscope For Today”

Fun Fact: This song is from my favourite album of Al’s “Running With Scissors”. This song was discussed to be included in C3’s Weird Al 12 pack but never happened. Well now it’s here! NOTE: Horn section is charted on keys.

“Weird Al” Yankovic – “Let Me Be Your Hog”

Fun Fact: This is a song from Al’s movie “UHF” which I totally recommend checking out if you haven’t already. It’s one of my favourite movies of all time. This song appears on the radio in it’s entirety. NOTE: The song is actually 18 seconds long but due to Magma’s 30 second song limit, I had to end it at 30 seconds. I made this song as a joke because it’s so short and stupid but I thought I’d throw it in here. The difficulties represented in this file are false but I honestly just made it to troll my friends

July 30th 2016 – “Weird Al” Rock Band Part 2

“Weird Al” Yankovic – “First World Problems

Fun Fact: “First World Problems” is a style parody of The Pixies. This also happens to be my favourite song on “Mandatory Fun”!

“Weird Al” Yankovic – “Jurassic Park”

Thanks to Gigakoops with help on tempo map and beat track!

Fun Fact: Al had made the song Jurassic Park because he enjoyed making another classic rock song which combined a recent movie topic with it. That song was “Yoda”. The music video for Jurassic Park was created almost entirely of claymation. Here’s the song in Japanese cause why not? “https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bcEY9TPrAn8

NO I WILL NOT CHART THIS IN JAPANESE THANK YOU FOR ASKING

“Weird Al” Yankovic – “I Lost on Jeopardy”

Fun Fact: This was the 4th music video Al had ever done, and it includes cameo appearances by Greg Kihn, the original song creator, Art Flemming, Dr. Demento, Don Pardo and Al’s parents, Mary and Nick.

“Weird Al” Yankovic – “Like a Surgeon”

Fun Fact: The parody idea for this song was actually partly from Madonna. She asked her friend how long would it be until Al made “Like a Virgin” into “Like a Surgeon”. Al normally didn’t take suggestions for parodies from others, but he liked her idea so he went with it.

“Weird Al” Yankovic – “Polka Face”

Fun Fact: This was Al’s 10th polka medley. Each song section has a different animated style in the music video.

August 10 – “Weird Al” Rock Band Part 2.5?

“Weird Al” Yankovic – “The Saga Begins”

Fun Fact: This song was released before The Phantom Menace hit theatres. Al had read spoilers on the internet to get the lyrics he needed. He then saw an advanced screening of the film to see if he had to fix any lyrics before it released so that it was as accurate possible.

August 17 – “Weird Al” Rock Band Part 3

    “Weird Al” Yankovic – “Frank’s 2000″ TV”

Fun Fact: 2000 inches is about half the size of a football field! That’s gotta be a big living room Frank!

NOTE: Opted to leave the keys out of this song as it’s very quiet in the mix and it’s just a couple of chords held for a while. Also, this song has got to be the most fun I’ve ever had charting harmonies! They’re such a blast to play as well!

    “Weird Al” Yankovic – “Lasagna”

Fun Fact: Al was originally going to record this entire song in Italian. He even read books and Italian dictionaries to learn the language. He then realized pretty much all of the humour would be lost if he were to do this, so he opted for a terrible Italian accent instead.

“Weird Al” Yankovic – “Hooked on Polkas”

Fun Fact: This is Al’s second Polka medley, which also happens to be my favourite “Weird Al” Yankovic Polka medley! Woo hoo!

August 28 – “Weird Al” Rock Band Part 4

“Weird Al Yankovic – “Wanna B Ur Lovr”

Fun Fact: Al says this is one of his favourites to play live because the reaction from the crowd is different every time and he has so much fun seeing what the crowd will do every time he plays it.

The Hint: The hint was referring to the lyrics “Girl, you must be Jamaican, because Jamaican me crazy”.

“Weird Al” Yankovic – “NOW That’s What I Call Polka!

Fun Fact: This is “Weird Al”’s 11th polka medley. The title is a parody of the “Now That’s What I Call Music!” compilation albums.

The Hint: The hint was referring to Al previously parodying “Achy Breaky Heart” by Billy Ray Cyrus with “Achy Breaky Song”, and “Party in the USA” by Miley Cyrus with “Party in the CIA”. This polka includes “Wrecking Ball” by Miley Cyrus. Hence, why this version sounds a little wackier .

“Weird Al” Yankovic – “Couch Potato”

Fun Fact: This was going to be the lead single off of Poodle Hat, but Eminem didn’t want that because he was concerned it would hurt his career, you know what I’m sayin’? AS IF being a “Hardcore Alf fan” doesn’t hurt your career already!

The Hint: The hint was referring to the Al TV interview with Eminem where he kept saying “You know what I’m sayin”? And Al kept screaming at him to shut up.

“Weird Al” Yankovic – “You Don’t Love Me Anymore”

Fun Fact: This track has a hidden track at the end of it called “Bite Me”. Which then makes this track 14:07 according to Wikipedia! The music video is a parody of “More Than Words” by Extreme.

The Hint: The hint was referring to the lyrics “You know, I even think it’s kinda cute the way

You poison my coffee just a little each day” This might be why Bret Michaels of Poison might enjoy this song over a hot beverage!

              So super excited right now!!

I can’t believe this is going to be a thing!!!! WOOOO!!!!

I even did a video recently about how crappy his unauthorized biography was!!!

              SWEEEET!! YOU MADE MY WEEK!!!

              #472148

Cool, really hoping someone finally agrees with me that When I Was Your Age would be a really fantastic Rock Band song.

              #472175

Glad to see people are excited! Please keep in mind that I am only one person, so obviously I cannot do the entire discography, that’s why it’s the “Greatest Hits” project . With that said, the first release is looking great and I hope to have it out as soon as possible!

                Great project.

Like I’ve mentioned here before, “Weird Al In 3-D” was the first music (back then…it was a cassette) that I ever purchased with my own money. I was 7 or 8 years old. He’s an American icon, as far as I’m concerned.

After AJFOne23 gifted us with “Nature Trail to Hell”…it’s all gravy to me.

If cornered, I guess I’d have to root for “I Lost on Jeopardy” to make the cut for this project.

                It’s on the to-do list
