June 1, 2015 at 6:19 pm #446818Cool, though I’d rather wait for an official press release and not one HMX employee’s personal take on the issue.

June 1, 2015 at 6:43 pm #446820No MIDI adapter would be a serious issue for my playing habits.
June 1, 2015 at 11:20 pm #446839I was wondering … how many dongles will we need? One per instrument? Will the dongles be instrument agnostic so you can just buy 5 dongles and use any one with any instrument? So many questions.
June 2, 2015 at 2:03 am #446850For me I’m worried about if the dongle might have any lag or delay (probably can’t even tell) but since it’s just another thing I would have to add I might as well just go all for a new kit anyway. Now I just need wireless mics.
June 2, 2015 at 11:59 pm #446928What about wired ones? I will never abandon my GH2 360 X-plorer.
June 3, 2015 at 12:20 am #446932What about wired ones? I will never abandon my GH2 360 X-plorer.If I had to bet right now about wired guitars, I would say it’s a no. Microsoft can sell you a dongle for your wireless instruments but thay can’t charge you anything for connecting a wired instrument and my guess is that HMX has sold wireless compatibility with the added income.
June 3, 2015 at 12:31 am #446935…or maybe…
Since the PS4 will use existing PS3 dongles (some of which include USB ports), it may be possible to connect wired controllers that way. Perhaps the XB1 dongles will also have a USB port or two. (We have seen a microUSB port in the new drums)
…or maybe not…
June 3, 2015 at 4:21 pm #447011Well, I really loathe the RB guitars and prefer the GH ones, and if I can’t use my x-plorers (or have to pay a bunch of money for more different GH ones) that is just another thing on the list of “things that will make me not get RB4”.
THe primarily thing being that I don’t want to have to buy an xbone or ps4 just for this one game, because they have nothing else I want.
June 3, 2015 at 8:38 pm #447047According to this video, both RB and GH wireless controllers will work on RB4, but not wired.

June 3, 2015 at 8:53 pm #447050Why? I don’t consider the MPA to be part of that line of conversation. I would think that the old adapter wouldn’t work but they would provide a new adapter. But I guess we’ll have to wait and see.

But I guess we’ll have to wait and see.Not sure they would produce a new adapter that serves one instrument out of the 4 it did in RB3. I would need to wait for a homebrew version, probably.
June 3, 2015 at 11:16 pm #447060Has anything been confirmed regarding the ion drums? It would be a deal breaker for me if they weren’t supported
