April 23, 2013 at 11:18 pm #3987512 of those artists have songs in testing (mind you, testing in “C3 time” may mean months away from release), and it’s not just a couple of songs. In addition another one of those artists is on our shortlist for a fair number of songs, but we’re talking 4th quarter of this year, not before that.
April 23, 2013 at 11:20 pm #398753If anyone wants to do pro drums for 1348, I’ll gladly release it through RBHP.

April 24, 2013 at 6:51 pm #398780Porcupine Tree
Dream Theater
Primus
Supertramp
Genesis
Flying Colors (Mike Portnoy supergroup)
+1 (especially the PTree)
also how cool would this be on drums?!
April 26, 2013 at 1:27 pm #398820Beyond Flying Colors, I’d actually really like to see Transatlantic, stupidly long as the songs would be. Not sure what the best way to handle them would be, though, length-wise.
May 8, 2013 at 11:32 pm #399416Figured I would post some links and maybe the charters may find a couple they enjoy enough to think about making
First off Umphrey’s McGee, known as an “improg” band as during their live shows they do a lot of off the cuff craziness. This is one of my favorites, Plunger:
Steven Wilson (Porcupine Tree frontman) just released his newest album The Raven That Refused to Sing (and other stories…) The first track Luminol has some impressive drum work and would be a blast in a full band. I post the live version.
Primus: If I had to pick one particular song. It would be Frizzle Fry, the title track of arguably their best album. The crazy section at the end reminds me a little of The Necomancer’s solo from Rush’s Caress of Steel. Bass and singing would be fun.
Flying Colors has many songs that I think would be a fun fit for rock band, they’re a little more on the poppy side, but have definite progressive influence. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0O5xMI3lgrY
September 23, 2013 at 8:16 pm #406700It’s an old topic, but I thought I may aswell add to it rather than start a new one.
Porcupine Tree is one of my all-time favourite bands. I plan on charting as many songs by them as I can once I’m through with what I’m working on now (which is basically practice for when I get to the stuff I REALLY want to do).
My list of PT songs I most want charted:
- the WHOLE Deadwing album
- Even Less
- Blackest Eyes
- Trains
- Piano Lessons
- A Smart Kid
- Stranger by the Minute
- The Sound of Muzak
- Fear of a Blank Planet
- Strip the Soul
- Waiting- Phase One
- Shesmovedon
- Drown With Me
- The Sleep of No Dreaming
I hope to start at least a few of these in the coming months.
September 23, 2013 at 9:19 pm #406702I would faint if we had just a few songs from that list. Bonnie the Cat is one not on your list that I would love to have.
Been enjoying a band called Big Big Train lately, they’re an English prog band that just did a pretty good double album.
Judas Unrepentant:
September 30, 2013 at 11:39 pm #407092One of my personal tracks of the year when it comes to Prog Rock: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tUz2xt-4FCA
It’s Haken’s Cockroach King. It’s a strange song, but it jams so hard. I feel the Gentle Giant influence. This song is off their very good new album, The Mountain.
The Gentle Giantesq harmonies would be a trip to sing.
October 1, 2013 at 12:05 am #407094I’m doing a fair amount of prog metal at this moment. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif”>
October 1, 2013 at 10:08 pm #407124Hoping it’s the Kevin Moore era DT you hinted at awhile back. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />
Even if it’s not, that’s great too. I didn’t know much about queensryche before you did the albums and now they get regular play on the iPod.

November 3, 2013 at 7:09 am #408798Heart of Cygnus: Yes. The name references a Rush song. They sound like Iron Maiden and Rush had a babby.
They haven’t been around long. But they are amazing. Rush fans will LOVE this band. Would be a great fit for the game.
